bangers
There is a video on YouTube called "Inside the Chieftans Hatch: Panther - Part2", in which the narrator, at 3:15, demonstrates the "open protected" position. This position allows the TC an intermediate position for the hatch, giving the TC better visibilty than being buttoned up, but without the danger of being completely unbuttoned. Could this be modelled in CM ? Edited December 5, 2017 by bangers
Badger73
My two cents: Could - yes, of course Should - no, not worth the efforts to do so I opine that if that particular innovation were a truly cost effective force multiplier, more would have been made of it by contemporary tank designers and and greater efforts would have occurred for field modification kits to retrofit. Bulletpoint
According to the guy in the video, the Panther commanders rarely ever opened the hatch completely to poke their head clean out of the tank (like in the game), so the easy solution could be simply lowering the commander's unbuttoned position significantly...
