We are not just fictional bogeymen hiding in your closet or under your bed created to prey upon your primal fears and scare you into acting right. We are flesh and blood super predators who walk among you unseen, simply biding our time, and waiting to strike without warning or mercy. We are your friends, neighbors, and coworkers. We come in a wide variety and endless assortment of colors, sizes, shapes, and disguises, from that creepy guy down the street to that handsome guy you saw at the bar, and every imaginable variation in between. We smile at you when you walk down the street, hold doors open for you, and say please and thank you. You would never suspect who and what we are, but we are there, all around you, constantly, hiding in plain sight. What makes us truly terrifying is that despite whatever intelligence, common sense, or insights you might think you possess you will never see us coming until it is far too late. For every fictional demon, horrific movie monster, and bed time story villain, there is a real life one of us monster lurking just out of sight. You might think you are safe in the perfect and serene little world you’ve built for yourselves, but you aren’t. We are there, always, and we can’t wait to get our hands on and claws into your tender and supple flesh so we tear you apart and show you why no matter how old, worldly, mature, and wise you think you are, how much you’ve think you’ve outgrown monsters, and stopped believing in us long ago, just how real we are."
