My first attempt at an all original map is underway, 'Fragmentistan Airport'

That reminds me there is a new movie coming out about the raid/hostage rescue at Entebbe.  Now something like that would be a cool scenario.   :)

You make the map.....I'll write the scripts!  :D

PS - The Mercedes might be a problem, even in CM:SF.  :P

PPS - My initial plan for this map is exactly as described above, a Russian Air-Assault Battalion (well, part of one) will be dropping in for a friendly visit, some of them will be in their BMD-2s.....Think 'Hot LZ', you'll be on the right track!  ;)

That's funny.  I was just thinking if a taxi could be modded to look like a Mercedes and if some modular buildings could be stuck together and modded to look like a cargo plane.  Then put the Exit zone in the cargo hold :P.  The Mercedes & friends would probably have to start unloaded just off the ramp...........  But I have a scenario now that is about ready for testing.  It has all kinds of triggers and new experiments with the game engine. Can't get distracted.

It's out and getting poor rating by Rotten Tomatoes unfortunately.  A CMSF scenario would be much better.  :)

Cool!!! Just looked it up and it was released in the US yesterday.  The trailer looks good.  Will be taking the family to see it in the next week or two.  Don't care much what the critics say anymore.  Actually I find that the more some critics dislike a movie the better the movie is and the more I like it.  I'll go see it and make up my own mind.  Military type movie followed by a meal at the Texas Roadhouse.  Life is good :).

Sounds good to me.  ;)

I've not been too impressed with 'the movies' overall for a while now, I seem to be too wrapped up in historical stuff, there's always so much more to learn.....Having said that I'm quite happy to knock up an entirely fictional campaign!**

**Actually I must confess it's two now.....I'm already messing with CM:BS to create a 'Return To Fragmentistan' set a decade or so later.  Somebody (I forget who, but a big thank you to them, whoever they were!  B)) did a splendid job of bulk converting CM:FB maps to CM:BS, they are very different from the usual CM:BS fare and I just couldn't resist trying to use them for something.  I've built a humongous Russian core using mostly Ukrainian units (all the tanks are T-64BVs) and will be using devious means to create the bad guys (Mostly Ukrainian Supply Platoons with bazillions of attached Specialist Teams, probably entitled 'Achmed's Brigade' or similar).

Interesting.  What made you use supply platoons to build units around?  If you don't mind giving up any secrets.

I'm trying to model reasonably well equipped (but very poorly organised) UnCons so I mostly want to use Ukrainian 'Specialist Teams' because they don't get NVG as a rule.....Obviously I need a 'Formation' to attach them to and a Supply Platoon is as good a bet as any, as they don't bring anything to the table on the NVG front either IIRC.  I believe that I can also dismount them to create supply dumps which the AI can't use directly, but which I believe it can use by proximity.  I quite often use forward observer 'Formations' for the same job when I'm less worried about the NVG.

There may (or may not) be other types of formation out there.....But on that I can't comment right now.

I'll blat some of the Russian Core for scenario #2 onto my favourite map (pretty sure you'll recognise it, I've done nothing but remove all the labels and change the church into a minaret) and stick some screenies in the CM:BS thread.  B)
