RIP Cpl Medrow

Recommended Posts

A devastating barrage pummeled the unwary G.I.s near St.Vith. Still asleep in their bivouac, the tent of Cpl Medrow was obliterated

by a 150mm shell. No remains were found of the hapless soldier, who had previously been an 8-0 ASL leader. Due to the fact no dog tags

were found, CPL Medrow was listed M.I.A  instead of K.I.A. Hence, no Purple heart was awarded.  RIP

Another tragic loss. I slogged through many battles with Cpl. Medrow, and although he was superficially wounded several times, he always hung in to lead his squad bravely. I guess taking him in his sleep was the only way the Krauts could nail him.

Lol, I knew immediately what you were referring to when I saw the title. My favorite was the German NCO Pohlman. I believe he was an 8-1, but don't remember his actual rank though, it was 30+ years ago!
