J Bennett
A devastating barrage pummeled the unwary G.I.s near St.Vith. Still asleep in their bivouac, the tent of Cpl Medrow was obliterated by a 150mm shell. No remains were found of the hapless soldier, who had previously been an 8-0 ASL leader. Due to the fact no dog tags were found, CPL Medrow was listed M.I.A instead of K.I.A. Hence, no Purple heart was awarded. RIP
Michael Emrys
Another tragic loss. I slogged through many battles with Cpl. Medrow, and although he was superficially wounded several times, he always hung in to lead his squad bravely. I guess taking him in his sleep was the only way the Krauts could nail him. mjkerner
Lol, I knew immediately what you were referring to when I saw the title. My favorite was the German NCO Pohlman. I believe he was an 8-1, but don't remember his actual rank though, it was 30+ years ago!
