I just hope this does not cause a cash flow issue for BF, depending on how that impacts them....

My impression is they do not really depend on the cashflow from retail: Delaying the release of a game without really big improvements over more than a year? Without any explanations? Then after more than one year their webshop suddenly is not ready for the long planned release? While the boss is playing around with the webshop, but only if he finds time for it between his Russia-bashing comments. And then the boss is traveling around instead of getting the release for the retail customers out?

This very much reminds me of a state sponsored company, not dependent on retail customers.

Also almost everytime i see Steve post it seems he is bashing Russia :P

I just thought it was his hobby. Every man needs a hobby.

As to the lateness of the release... Well there is definitely no retail dependency or pressure, that's for sure. I don't know how well BF do from seasonal sales. Regulars that are interested will buy it whenever it comes out. Other CM fans will also probably buy it later on, if they're not tired of the late war western front, since there is little competition. That other game we're not supposed to talk about has also just been released, so beat BF to it, although it has a very different flavour, with a very Eastern Europe style UI. There's no saying you can't buy or enjoy both, and the market is hardly saturated. I can wait.

Yeah I enjoy those forbidden games, but not as much as CM I have a few friends and we are praying for BF to start doing more titles set in 41-43 as those years of the war are more interesting than 44-45, but we hold our breath

Well, the idea that that game can't be mentioned in these forums -- Graviteam's Mius-Front -- is pretty ridiculous, although I'm aware there is plenty of hostility toward it around here. It's a fantastic game. While I can understand why the Graviteam games may not be to everyone's liking, or every fan of Combat Mission's liking, there's absolutely no reason one can't find both the Graviteam games and the Combat Mission games equally excellent. I do.

So yeah, pick up Mius-Front -- it's a mere $35 and it will provide you with a different take on the Ostfront from Red Thunder, and something to bide your time with until Final Blitzkrieg. There are things Mius-Front does better than Combat Mission, and things (especially modelling infantry combat) where Combat Mission is clearly superior.

I was under the assumption that people didnt mention it because they were banned for talking about it, but yeah I like both games they are my two favorite war games. Aslo it was like $31 at release like 10% of which was kinda cool

LOL WTF is more like it it.  That means Why The Face BTW for those that don't know :)

I dunno I kind of get what he is saying.. Their efficiency could use some improvement.. Also almost everytime i see Steve post it seems he is bashing Russia :P

Weird comment - your are basing a measure of poor efficiency based on the number forum posts some one makes. Guys, come on, haven't BFC shown us a track record of doing quality work?  Haven't they shown that when they release a game it is good quality?  That takes time.  If the just released it when you guys think it should be ready then you would all be complaining about the poor quality.

SIGH

I have no idea why people keep posting that they cannot name some game or another.  Thank you @sandman2575 for working to put a stop to that silly meme.  The rule is not advertising another game or posting links to them.  There is plenty of opportunity to compare and contrast any game you like to CM - just make sure you make some modicum of sense- please. :D

Or maybe Mr. Steve is (and perhaps some of his staff) are wealthy and BFC is just an enterprise that capitalist/entrepreneurs enjoy running, partly as a hobby and enjoyment. I have also noticed Mr. Steve has made an anti-Russia remark or two. All I can say is the opinions of the management do not necessarily represent those of this poster. Having said that I do  feel like Mr. Steve is kind of a celebrity to us who are enthusiasts and fans of his companys’ war game/simulations. I like it when he posts in the forums too. Public relations are a good thing I think. I hope I don’t annoy anyone by calling him Mr. Steve. (I don’t know his last name but want to give him due respect).

The correct title is Lord Steve of the Grammont, FYI. His estates comprise the northern half of New Hampshire and a good chunk of Maine, last time I checked. The reason the web store got delayed is that his programming manservants were busy polishing the websites of his actual businesses, a chain of casinos established on indian reservations stretching from Connecticut all the way to Washington state. Probably he's hanging out with Michael Bloomberg on a private little island in the Bahamas for the weekend...

Well the cat is out of the bag now! But you failed to mention that Lord Steve also hold title to most of the Strip in Las Vegas. Unfortunately the negotiations to buy the Kremlin and turn it into a theme park are not going well at the moment.

That explains his tiff with Russia and it's Oligarchs. I would have enjoyed the "Straight to the Gulag Comrade" Rollercoaster and the vodka and borsch concession stands, but sadly they're not to be.

Given the fact that I have previous when it comes to dealing with members of the upper orders, I do have to point out that they do not use their christian names in their titles, as I'm sure Lord Grammont of Bangor will be happy to confirm.

We are all awaiting the release of CMFB, but in the mean time I would like to ask everyone's attention for the spectacular things Kohlenklau is doing with his WINTER MOD FOR CMRT. It is no less than spectacular! Winter has come to the eastern front and it looks amazing, people! Landscape, soldiers, vehicles, trees, all has been prepared for some nasty winter battles.

Really, this is SPECTACULAR!  DON'T MISS OUT ON IT!

I do not have Red Thunder, but these Kohlenklau winter Mods are indeed stunning.

Reposted from another thread:

The webpage you guys saw was something that Steve was working on, and wasn't supposed to be visible. He's done some crash course learning on how to get products into the old website (starting with the Battle Pack), because we are going to put CMFB up for pre-orders very soon on the old website. It would be up this weekend, but Steve needs to travel over the weekend. So it is looking like early next week.

Still not up... Any news? is it ever coming?! Tell us man when can I see snowy Germans!? =D
