Mods v Z folders

in most cases, its a holdover from the old days, i.e. CMSF, where there was no Mod folder and you actually needed to create a "Z" folder.

its mostly redundant these days, although for certain mods, for example using a special editor overlay when creating a map, you still need to use a Z folder.

Interesting, as there is no "Mods" folder by default on Mac OSX instalattion? "Z" version mod installation seams more cross platform convenient.

Basically the game engine looks in the Data folder contents in alphabetical order. 'Z' is convenient to remember, but you can really name it anything as long as its name comes after the last object in the folder. Since the CMBS data folder contents all start with a B that means you can name it most-anything you like. 'Freds mods folder' or 'crazy mods' will work too. CMRT would be more restricted since the everything in that Data folder stats with an R. That's why we suggest 'Z'. :D
