With or without shadows

Hi guys,

 

just want to know if you're  playing with shadows on or off?

 

I've quite a powerfull system (4,4 ghz + 780ti) and i can handle them. But: sometimes they look very strange. Especially when they are long..

I get mixed results, sometimes flawless and sometimes blocky or threaded. Seems to depend on the angle of the sun. It can shift from minute to minute and camera angle. Worst is from foilage. Vehicles and pixeltruppen usually ok.

I agree they look strange at certain angles but I usually play with them on. They add a bit of depth to the battlefield that is missing when they are turned off.

I play with them on, but my core issue with them is that shadows are only rendered by objects in the scene. So if you are not looking at particularly prominent terrain features the scene can suddenly go from shaded to bright and vice versa very quickly.

Same here, I play with them on but sometimes they really look bad. 780, most recent drivers.

I turn them on and of depending on how my system can handle the current situation. I turn the on in small battles but turn them of during larger ones.

I play with them on, and I have a pretty decent system, too.  But, the strangeness, blockiness, and disco light effect they often produce really makes the game look horrible.

 

When they look good, they are great.  I haven't tried playing with shadows off yet, but I suspect I'd rather have them on for the times when they look great.
