All I see is a room with wallpaper and black featureless  silhouettes of troops with only the uncovered bit of their eyes (and the skeletor mask) visible.

Am baffled re the ideal video settings as in all other ways I have great visuals of CM games on my monitor.

Yup - will work on that.

went a bit downhill after that

Am curious as to what went wrong after the crossing.  (Was it that all the focus was on the crossing and there was no plan of what to do next?  Or was there nasty unexpected surprises?)

Not really, just the usual CMBS snafus and deadly fire.  I got one of the wagons blown up with the infantry inside from a keyholed position and others were ground down by fire. took a  few risks that didn't pay off. I was able to flush enough of the enemy out to get some more footsloggers safely across one of the bridges further up the river, but the time ran out and it ended in a draw. If I'd had another 15 or so minutes I think I would have won as I was holding most of the objectives.

So just another bloody day at the office 🙂

Yeah...  I have had horrible experiences getting carriers blown up with passengers.  Keep hitting myself to remember (whenever one can) always dismount passengers b4 putting a carrier in harm's way.

Yes, me too.  The problem is it is tempting, and was in the scenario, to rush forward by vehicle into cover in the town buildings before the smoke evaporated then debus. The big road parallel to the river was covered by enemy fire, so men going across on foot copped it too.  Just one of the pleasant command dilemmas we CMBS players love to have.

Could you export and upload your reshader config? Looks great!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/j7m1arosxuiflpa/Shader profile.7z?dl=0

Just unzip that in your CM game folder...

I have it set up so that "Shift+F1" toggles reshade on & off & that "Shift+B" toggles a border on & off.

I also use the "Advanced War movie shader" for CMBN (the others seem too dark for my system) by BarbaricCo...

Kieme's mod pack...

Good video - like the way you stayed down at ground level for the action.  It's strange that some seem to play from level 4 or higher as one can't enjoy the graphics etc from up there.

Awesome video!

May I ask, what scenario is this and what mods are you using?  The walls & buildings look great.

The scenario is one from the demo.

A Bulat reverses with two of my T-72's on a hill watching over the terrain.

The Bulat fires and destroys one of my tanks, and one of my T-72's fires on an already destroyed Bulat.

Seconds later, the surviving T-72 destroys the Bulat as it attempts to escape.

While it lacks drama, I finally figured out how to see who did what and got my first enemy surrender (where the end game screen just pops up).  Overall, a minor victory but I am just starting out so I will take it!  Took too many losses which I believe could have been avoidable or at least many of them were.

Reminds me of Pavlov's House in Stalingrad.  You shall NOT pass!! (which is Gandalf I know)

So I quit playing to go watch the Brown's with 20 minutes left in the game (They won!) and then woke up for the last 20 minutes of this game.  Kept my guys spread out to avoid airtstrikes (don't bunch up, no straight lines!)

Whew!  What a freaking game.

Going to read up on the subject and relax today and enjoy the win... maybe do the training again...maybe buy some of the other titles...
