mcaryf1
Hi Bill or whoever Could you please clarify how the "RANGE =" qualifier should be used in the AI scripts? I notice for a lot of Japanese scripts it has a value of 30 but in European ones it is more typically 10. Regards Mike
Big Al
Its how far the A.I. will look for units of that script based on the 1st #FRIENDLY_POSITION= location.
mcaryf1
Hi Al Thank you for that. Mike
Hubert Cater
Hi Mike, Al is correct and just one small addition in that for almost all of the plans it also includes a distance check to the #GOAL_POSITION. So for example, an OFFENSIVE plan with RANGE= 10, the game engine will check for units within 10 tiles of either the #GOAL_POSITION and/or #FRIENDLY_POSITION. This ensures that it will take the closest applicable units and not waste time checking all over the map for available units which speeds things up quite a bit.
