This small detachment of the 6th Independent Fallschirmjäger Regiment is going to relax at Ouistreham for the evening, maybe playing at the Casino if it's still open, and they'll come back through Benouville 'round midnight to report back to their unit further South.

Finally an evening leave and some fun: so little they know!

The set is ready and the show has been rehearsed so many times.

Get ready for the upcoming ASL Pegasus Bridge battles and campaign conversions, coming soon to the Repository!

The pond as all the irrigation ditches are all where they should be... ;)

At the moment I'm designing the first Battle, but I still heave to re-learn how the CMX2 Editor is working: i.e. I have to discover how to set the position for the Reinforcements to enter the Map...

Back to the manual...

Stay tuned!

Cheers

Thanks!

I have to discover how to set the position for the Reinforcements to enter the Map

1) Put them in the location and orientaion you want them to appear in the 3D map

2) give them a reinforcement slot in the Unit editor (press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8, while the unit is selected)

3) edit the reinforcement slot ('Allied Reinforcements' or 'Axis Reinforcements', on the left) with

3a) an arrival time

3b) an arrival window (amount of time after the arrival time within which they'll appear)

3c) give the slot a useful name like "Arrival of Howard's Glider"

The Reinforcements routine has been greatly improved in CMX2, and so I discovered just reading the short paragraph on the manual!

Thanks anyway Jon! :D

Instead of that single sign post stuck in the ground for an entire battalion or a whole division, now indeed you can deploy your reinforcements very carefully, and it's even simpler add them actually.

What I realized in making this map (it's my first in CMX2) is that I missed a few things: a water tower I had to replace with a 4 stories single tile building without windows except on the top floor, and the Tobruk fortifications (again!): I would also appreciate to have unmanned guns to deploy.

What the heck, we're in Normandy and we still do not have the Todt (Battlefront?:P) organization's produce of hard cement and steel!?

Not even for a pit sake Tobruk?

On the plus side, trenches and barbwire are fun to play with and adapt very well to the terrain.

Enough of those grunts, and back to the

>>> roll call for Beta Testers <<<

As I start to assemble the battles from the data I gather or converting them from ASL I indeed would appreciate some expert players to check them out before releasing them, and since Proving Grounds has not as yet opened a CMBN section (?), I would send them directly when they will become available.

The battles should range from small for the majority to a couple of medium ones, so they would generally not require much time to play, and I will expect feed backs from the proposed Beta Tester in a reasonable amount of time.

If you're interested, please PM me and we'll arrange the operation...

Thanks for reading.

Thanks Juju! Maybe I would be able to release it when your Interface Mod will be ready... ;)

But it takes time to test and check all those AI plans. At this moment I've built four battles, and I'm midway! Generally they will be small battles no more than 20' long and Company size...

As explained in the included readme file, this version is British vs AI or H2H.

Later on I will release a German vs AI version...

Para. thanks anyway for your feed backs! even if uncompleted you pointed to some very important aspects.

Cheers

This is a cool campaign! Really action packed! Great job!

Quick question ... I played this recently as the British and I scored major victories in all but the last one, which was a minor victory, and at the end of the end of the campaign was told I lost. Is the campaign that stringent by design, or am I missing something?

Yep, WeiterJWA, that was a choice I made to reflect the Historical outcome of the Benouville battle: by midnight after the Warwicks entered the fray, the 21st Pz was totally repulsed and expelled by Benouville, so you should need a Major Victory if not a Total one.

For this German Campaign I lowered a bit the requirements.

Thank you Guys for playing it: let me know how you do fare...

Enjoy.
