Totally agree. I have every CM2 WW2 game and modules and have yet to play anywhere close to all the missions and campaigns. That is over a decade of playing CM2 titles.

That's not counting the community-made content. New CM2 campaigns would have to bring something to the table we don't already have, they are a huge investment of time for the players and I can't even imagine what the authors go through.

Literally a case of picking your battles for the future of CM and Battlefront. Very interested simply to see how it goes. My CM backlog will already probably outlive me.

  2. CM runs so silky smooth with cheap current gen hardware!

For around 20,000 INR I got a 12th gen Intel i-3 (only single core performance matters anyway) + the most pathetic barebones motherboard (makes no difference ) + only 8gb of DDR4 RAM. In India this is all slightly more expensive than in the US I beleive.

Kept my Nvidia GTX 1070 ti pushing 2560×1600 pixels & SATA Solid state drive. Could drop load times a bit with an up to date SSD but you only really do that once at the start of a game so not really worth it.

Where was this from? It isn't accurate. There are a number of things on that list that aren't in CM Pro. And the last one is in Pro. I remember testing it by changing an Abrams main gun to fire 1,000 rounds per minute. Yeeeehhaaawww.

why can't it run a much less graphically demanding game like Combat Mission?

I can run that mission on a ten year-old i5. Perhaps BFC should update the recommended system requirements to convey that running a huge map with lots of units is not going to work on a weaker computer. It's nothing to do with 'less graphically demanding', software is more complicated than that.

  5. I've seen blogs and videos and have come to the conclusion, that amidst the usual jockeying for position up there (building roads, airfields etc), some individual commanders went rogue and settled personal scores. It is not unusual for Indian and Chinese soldiers to engage in a little hand-to-hand combat from time to time on patrol, this time it was unusually deadly.

The border is not well-defined or agreed upon, so this is bound to happen. The tone of most experts I've read/watched is that this isn't too much to worry about.

e.g. Indian side is used to patrolling up to this particular rock and consider it ours. Turns out the Chinese think the rock is theirs. If opposing patrols ever happen to be at that rock at the same time its bound to lead to some confusion to put it lightly

Hats off to the BFC crew; another great new title.  My favorite added feature: a tie between the French and the Indian Army.  (And I love that both have different uniform options to toggle between).

Thank you for bringing us such a content-rich multi-module Italian campaign!

Hi, came to say the same. It's a dream come true to have Indian troops to play with. It sounds like this was a lot of hard work on the part of BFC so thank you, thank you!

  7. The things you are suggesting aren't really needed within the time frame of most CM missions. Also, a hypothetical mission which supported these features wouldn't necessarily be more fun to play in my humble opinion.

The British army has a medical procedures guide that you can carry with you. Basically says you shouldn't attempt to do anything if you, or the area containing the casualty is under fire. That covers most CM situations, and even when there's enough peace and quiet to do some triage etc.. I think the way it's abstracted in the game is fine already.

  8. Hindi and Urdu are similar enough to pass for each other in game. While trying to figure out which language would have had the most speakers amongst Indian Divisions in Italy I couldn't find anything more useful than this in the official history:

'As an illustration, their Army newspapers now appeared in eleven languages, instead of two as in peace time. Even the impassive Gurkhas had their Gurkhali news sheet, which they read with avidity. '

  9. Placed my order. This has been a must buy for me as soon as it was announced. I can't resist any CM content featuring Commonwealth forces.

For the hours I will put into this, $35 is very reasonable.. especially as the Indian rupee is stronger against the dollar these days.

I'm still a few games behind (haven't got FB or Black Sea) so the pace of the releases doesn't bother me. Has anyone actually finished every campaign and battle that had been released so far?
