They weren't removed intentionally it is a known bug that applies only to quick battles, however as SimpleSimon pointed out there still in game in the Scenario Editor.

My apologies for the double posts but while on the topic of missing units in QB, is it a bug that the UNCON's are missing their Heavy Technical Formation and they are missing the choice to buy a single ZU-23-2 Technical? Or is this intentional due to the fact that they are "infantry only" instead of "mixed"?

I thought so thanks for the confirmation sburke. The missing BMP-3 and M7A3 (B-Fist) in QB's are the only two bugs that I have ran into so far I really love how Battlefront takes the time to make sure their games are as smooth as possible.

Not yet but I would think this is something that will be fixed in the next major patch, I am assuming of course that it has already been discussed internally and just hasn't been fixed yet.
