  1. This is a playthrough of the last mission of the custom campaign "Competent Incompetence". I am almost only utilizing the interface for issuing orders (except for mandatory hotkeys like SHIFT+"Target Arc") so this is also suitable as a learning resource for new players to get an idea how one possible approach CMA or Combat Mission overall. Some of the highlights: a SU-25 unleashing hell upon Mujahideen positions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqc4HyMc57w&t=1h13m12s and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqc4HyMc57w&t=35m36s Have fun! Thanks by the way for mentioning the Incompetent Competence custom campaign in one of my threads, I really enjoyed the campaign as it provided awesome maps and it comes with a not too strict time limit promoting caution and utilizing all of your resources.
  2. https://reshade.me/ Well you could just download the ones I have active in the video or just download the complete package and test it out for yourself, you always can enable/disable them one by one.
  3. I indeed have installed and played MOS´s TOC scenario a while ago and forgot about the corresponding mod pack still being active in my Z folder.
  4. Download the newest reshade, point it towards your CM exe, install in OpenGL, and then a prompt asks you what shaders you want to download/install. Then launch the game and press Shift+F2 and you can start. There you can also set an enable/disable switch key which can be useful, for example I always get graphical glitches in the main menu of CM games with enabled reshade and therefor disable it until I am ingame.
  5. The final part of the playthrough: Two of the highlights: A Bazooka team ambushes the first Stug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFHC2aGPyFI&t=23m30s A rushing Sherman finally gets a flanking shot on the second Stug that caused so much trouble for our troops: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFHC2aGPyFI&t=49m05s
  6. I nearly dropped my notebook when the one guy yelled "Sch****, nicht schon wieder" which translates to "Sh**, not again".
  7. Here is a screenshot of how my Z folder looks like. It is a mess with alot of redundant files overwriting each other but thanks to the intelligent mod file replacement system CM uses I have no issues.
  8. Well I basically use all visual mods that http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/ has to offer for the specific CM game. There is ALOT for Normandy, beside the for me mandatory vehicle skins there are alot of fine effect mods, UI mods, and uniform mods to customize the game to your preferences. There are also some several mods that modify the built in ALT+M shader I always use. Then Reshade OpenGL configured as seen in my videos, I leave most Reshade effects on stock settings and just do minor modifications like tuning down the bloom amount or removing the distracting dirt lens effect from the ambient light option. Also I run 16x aniso, 8xAA, 8xtransAA in Override from the Nvidia Settings for my CM games. As for the battlesound-free background noise I am not sure if I got this soundfiles from the Normandy repository or used a Shock Force No Battle Sound mod on Normandy. A lot of the file system are the same across all CM2 games (but watch out not all like obviously the UI). If you want I can upload you the quiet sounds.
  9. In games like Combat Mission Afghanistan some vehicles such as different tanks are only accessible when a certain equipment state (poor, excellent etc.) is selected for that formation. However the newer CM2 titles (I have 4.0 on all but don´t know if this is changes the editor) allow you to conveniently choose single specific vehicles in the editor and then add them to a formation of your desire. From what I´ve seen most vehicles and versions are in this list. I think the reasons are else where located, like historical plausibility or the fact that some of this vehicles were extremely rare but I don´t know for sure. Would also love to enounter more of them in the campaigns.
  10. Had a tough cruiser battle a week ago and couldn´t prevent the historic outcome. Those Japanese AC´s were a tough nut and they even torpedoed me while I was planning to do so with them. There is a reason why the briefing tells you to disengage ASAP In the meantime I really grew accustomed to the intelligent command orders this game allows like linking ship divisions in formation and the decent AI. No comparsion with the flawed commanding and the utter worst AI of "triple-A" Total War naval battles. Really impressed what this studio has achieved, shame that we won´t see more games from them. I´m planning to do one epic fleet battle either the decisive Tsushima fleet battle from the Japanese Side with somewhat worse odds than historical or a huge one with the battle editor and then will focus on WW1 Jutland. This two are definitely among the best naval simulations I´ve played beside modded Silent Hunter, Dangerous Waters /SC, and Rule the Waves. Btw both games Distant Guns and Jutland are offered as free demos with time-limited scenario play.
  11. A playthrough of the CMFB initial "Aachen" scenario featuring US forces. I am almost only utilizing the interface for issuing orders (except for mandatory hotkeys like SHIFT+"Target Arc") so you can keep track of what I am doing. Beside a collection of mods and shaders, there are movie soundtracks included alongside gameplay to help creating a gritty atmosphere. Have fun! and learn from my mistakes
