I'm looking for scenarios that have a written guide with them.

"Model detail", maybe counterintuitively, affects this. You can try using Shift+[ and Shift+] in-game to watch it happen in real time.
Thank you! I'll give that a try!

Has anyone made a tutorial scenario along with a guide that is meant to teach you other CM concepts? The training campaign does a pretty good job, but I was unsure if anything was made by the community.
Thanks!

I guess I'm confused, because in my game I have random blurry squares.(that pop in and out often) When I watch others play the game they don't have this effect.
-
For whatever reason, my game goes from good ground textures, to blurry ones, then back to blurry. Is there a terrain mod that addresses this, and simply removes/replaces the mini textures with the normal ones?

Likely answer is one post above:
And if that doesn't work then contact support (only other users here so we cannot help with keys and links): Battlefront Help desk
Yeah, it's not in my Spam, (I checked that immediately) - I simply wasn't send a confirmation. The only confirmation I have is from Paypal.
Support just completed my order, but I still don't have my confirmation email, which would be nice to have for my records.
Edit: The confirmation was sent to my Paypal email address, not my account address. So mystery solved!

I just bought the CMBN Big Bundle, and I'm in the same spot. Just sitting here twiddling my thumbs.
Pretty frustrating.

Same problem here - very frustrating.

I would say from a scale standpoint, the Graviteam games. They are different approach to the exact same tactical problems. Steel Beasts come close, especially recently. The biggest differences is that Garviteam's tactical battle are real-time, as well as Steel Beasts being built as a combined arms simulator and modern time frame only.
But if you only look at WEGO, there isn't much out there.
Thank you for the suggestion, I've tried the Gaviteam games, but I really dislike the lack of control I have. It all seems very nebulous. I'll make an order, and sometimes the units will do it, sometimes they won't, but it just doesn't feel good (for me). While it probably is a good "army general" simulator, I'm looking for smaller scale both in engagement size and control (like CM offers).

On the contrary, I'm looking for opinions from people who enjoy the CM series. Not everyone does. (also, I've tried that, 0 results )
My suspicion is that there really aren't any CM competitors, no one has really been able to match the depth and gameplay provided.
-
I've been on the fence for years (literally) at this point, hoping that something with more modern controls/UI/graphics would come along, but so far nothing has even come close to the tactical control and scale of CM. The new Close Combat looks neat, but just doesn't seem to have the same feel.
Is there anything on the horizon for battlefront I should be waiting for? Or should I just shut up and buy?

Thanks guys - Would like to use the new engine - so no games covering the Russian/German Front? (History is clearly not my strong suite, so I apologize if I'm not correctly identifying what I'm talking about.

Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks!

I've tried to get into the game for years, (via the Normandy demo) but I keep bouncing off of it, mostly because of the abysmal controls. (The graphics are also pretty poor, but I can easily look past that) I've been playing games for 20 years, in every genre there is, but this game's camera and movement feels like an odd mix of control schemes, and none of them feel right.
Is there any chance this will ever be addressed?

CM is an addiction. If you are already enjoying the demo enough to buy the game, you will most likely end up buying all of the games anyways.
Only you know what you are able to afford to buy, but if you can afford both the big bundle and Black Sea, I doubt you will be disappointed. If you can't do both and are looking for the most variety, I would suggest the Market Garden module as it gives a new location in Holland, and adds some British units to the base game. It will however, only encourage you to pick up the Commonwealth module soon afterwards....
Each title offers its own unique experience. The game I thought I would enjoy the least, CMFI, is actually my favourite one of them all and I am having a really hard time waiting patiently for the Rome to Victory Module to come out. Currently, the CMFI Gustav Line bundle, offers the widest range of nations, unit types, oddball equipment, terrain, weather, and length of of the war covered. If you want variety, CMFI is where it is at.
Thank you! I'm a bit unclear - Does Black Sea for $60 include v4, or do I need to buy the upgrade with it?
-
Thanks John!
I did have one follow up question - I'm wondering if I should forgo the "big bundle" and just get one of the BN modules, and grab another of maybe the more modern setting? Any suggestions on what to buy to get a good variety? Knowing myself it will take a long, LONG time to get through what is in the big bundle, and I'm thinking I might want to have some diversity when it comes to the setting/time period.

I'd like to purchase the Normandy big bundle, I've had my eye on it for years at this point - I've played the demo a bunch and think I'm ready to take the plunge.
My concern is the DRM - I often play games on my laptop or my desktop, and would like to be able to install this on both. Is this possible?
Sure wish they would just put this on steam
-
-
Gotcha, thank you!
-
Maybe this ins't possible?

Thanks! can you tell me, does the full game have any kind of encyclopedia, regarding all the different units/weapons, with some historical context? I'm not all that knowledgeable about the guns/vehicles of WW2, and it would be nice if the game gave some indication as to when certain weapons are useful over others, etc.
Also, while I'm at it, I've been looking for a graphics mod to help perk it up a bit - is there a one-shot mod you can recommend that will make the game look better in multiple ways (terrain, units, effects, etc)?
Thanks!
Is a scalable UI ever coming?

I know Steve mentioned a few years and all there was going to be an effort to decouple the UI, allowing it to be scaled.
UI size and the sluggish performance/input lag are the biggest issues CM has in my opinion.
