  1. Very clever with the landing craft and nice looking map.
  2. Looks pretty good. Bring on the Aussies.
  3. I finally finished Biazza Ridge yesterday. I look forward to getting my a$$ kicked . This time I will played as the Tedesco.
  4. Thanks. I played the original as the British and really enjoyed it. First time I ever set up AT guns on field.
  5. Sounds good. Look forward to playing the campaign. Interesting that this took place around the same time as Market Garden. Precious resources the Germans might have used elsewhere.
  6. This worked for me as well. Full install, using the key from Upgrade 4 Big Bundle from the activation screen using the game icon did not work. This is the process I followed: 1. Full install 2. Then use the "Activate New Products" from the installation directory and use license no. for 3.0 upgrade 3. Then a window appeared showing "Unlock Success!" Base Game 3.0, Base Game 2.0 and Game Engine 4 unlocked. 4. Then I ran the game to make sure it was operating and fired up a battle. At the splash screen bottom right it says V2.0, Game Engine 4. 5. Then use the "Activate New Products" and use license no. for "CMFI + Gustav Line BUNDLE". 6. Then a window appeared showing "Unlock Success!" Base Game 3.0, Base Game 2.0, Game Engine 4 and Gustav Line unlocked. 7. Then I ran the game to make sure it was operating. At the splash screen bottom right it says V2.0, Game Engine 4. Also the Gustav Line symbol appears at the bottom, second icon from the left.
  7. If you were meaning me, I played my first twenty or so games on WEGO and Warrior, then went to Elite/WEGO. I also try to play "Ironman", no reloads or restarts. If I played RT I would get slaughtered. The time limits in a lot Paper Tiger campaign battles are a lot tougher than the other designers (except for the 3 hours given in Nijmegen) when things start to unravel. Even though I play WEGO. I often step away from the PC exhausted after hours and hours of intense concentration. I would not eat without the wife serving me.
  8. I didn't find "Badlands" that hard, forced a surrender. I did get a lucky hit on the AA Half track with a mortar. I am just onto "Here We Fight", have not started yet. Its the same map as I have already fought on twice before I have a reasonable number of troops but no bazooka. Its going to be a tough one.
  9. Yes, quality first please. A somewhat rare commodity these days. Mamertino for Caeser, not sure I have heard that before, will have to look into it.
  10. Hitlers new secret weapon that will throw the allies back into the sea.
  11. Ok. I submitted my save from the Heuman Lockbridge battle with bug in v4.0.
  12. I don't have the experience of some of the players here but I too have noticed this. There have been some cringe worthy moments as my soldiers route to "safer" ground in v4.0.
  13. Looks phenomenal Rinaldi. The only problem is I do not want to read it because it will spoil the battle when I play it (if I get a chance to play it).
  14. Agreed nice action reports, screenshots and maps. The ambush on E company reminded my brutal days of learning in the Road to Montebourg campaign. Also the map as a whole looks really nice. You appear to be keeping both companies quite tightly bunched or is the map just that big?
  15. Stele, This looks great. Where do we sign up, fresh faced, unblooded captain/major/colonel sign up
  16. I played it recently, its a pretty quick scenario which I like sometimes. As commented above, it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Total Victory here as well.
  17. Its the first scenario of the Road to Nijmegen Campaign (BNMG), I think it is called Nicoline. It was Elite difficulty level. That's 2nd squad of 1st Platoon moving ahead in the buildings in the image (split into three teams), from memory I would have used Quick move order to get them there. Its E Company HQ and MMG Team having the difficulty moving using a Quick move order on the right. The rest of 1st Platoon is strung out and advancing along a broad front to the left, some in cover some not.
  18. This was 7 minutes into the battle so I would have to go back and attempt to try and replicate the move down the wheat field on the right flank to see if it happens again. I image that this would be difficult. I suspect it happened because these guys were fired upon by the Germans in the buildings, a couple of the guys freaked out (rightly so) and froze while some of them went on or were perhaps they were far enough ahead to be not affected by the fire. The troops are Airborne, regular morale and Tiring. Perhaps the teams consist of Green and Veteran and average out to regular. If this was the case the outcome would make sense. The only problem is the guys who advanced further couldn't do much (from memory).
  19. This thread is quite confusing but I think i had a similar issue 4.0 with a HQ Team and MG Team moving through (Quick) a wheat field both at the same time. The two groups in the rear, "dragging A$$" appear to be crawling. The MG Team were split over about 180 meters. Full squads got through fine. I have a save game from which I extracted the screenshot below. Is this what you guys are talking about? I only had this happen at the start of my first battle in 4.0 and have since played three more battles without noticing anything similar. If someone wants the save game let me know how/where to upload it. Happy to help.
  20. Works nicely. I haven't been using this feature either even though I think it might have been in the tutorial. I was wondering how the YouTubers got it looking so smooth.
  21. Game play wise I recently finished the Foiling Fustian campaign in CMFI(GL) where at least two of the battles were in misty woody terrain. I think the mist really assisted with close quarter assaults by infantry on Sherman's. Also, the advancing British infantry were cut down. I don't think the results would have been as successful without the mist/fog. Game play wise I am still coming to grip with night battles, a bit of a different beast. If you fire your a target. Enemy armour can blunder right past your forces and both sides will struggle to see each other. In the rain, I think your infantry may fatigue quicker but I am not sure yet.
  22. Yeah its good Ivan, quite different to CMBN with terrain and maybe the application of the troops. Sometimes I look back on the claustrophobic atmosphere of the Bocage with fondness.
