  1. Lo and behold, removing the mods worked. I am sure I tried this. Sorry for wasting everyone's time. Don't know my head from my arse anymore. Most be time to quite this skull f*%%%^ job I am in.
  2. Rightly or wrongly I am with CptMiller and Bozowans here. Millers video is very telling and mimics what I have seen in battles vs the AI. I have been waiting for a fix to continue my Road to Nijmegen campaign since April last year. To me the change to 4.0 was like chalk and cheese for the desperate Airborne in the later battles of this campaign. Not hating just saying.
  3. Cheers, right in front of me. Thanks Bulletpoint. I am pretty sure I tried removing all mods when it first happened (many months ago) but I will try again and report back if it works.
  4. No, I mean I have had two separate graphics cards a 660 and now a 1070. Cheers P
  5. Thanks Schrull, appreciate the follow up very much. It was consistently crashing at 5 minutes into the battle for me. Windows 7, i7, 3070k with 16Gig of RA,. had two graphics cards, so not likely to be the issue. That means there must be something wrong with my "4.00 full". Aargghh If I could figure out how to give you a rep point I would give you one.
  6. Lets get it on (real life or H2H battle, I don't mind, as long as we get to see it). popcorn emoji...
  7. I am sure Italians were fighting with the Allies before this, read in Atkinson perhaps, they suffered quite heavy casualties.
  8. Yes, good point. Mine is 34" on my desktop.
  9. Been playing at 3440 x 1440, looks really nice. IMO the UI is still readable but I don't think it could go much further. A beginner might find reading the UI frustrating.
  10. Thanks for your help Schrull. Google Drive link ok?: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1QH_D6fL9WoF11rtnTkd8t8gA06K_d7Rq
  11. I tried it out on my original 3.12 ==> 4.00 install which I had kept separate and no crash. Something bugged in the 4.00 FULL install.
  12. I will keep that in mind. Ok, thanks for the detailed reply Penal battalions, a new feature in proposed Red Thunder module (for the Soviets and the Nazi's)
  13. PC, Windows 7. V4.0 full installation. CMBN: have Commonwealth, Market Garden, Battle Pack and Vehicle Pack.
  14. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on trying to rescue incapacitated wounded soldiers and/or their weapons from a minefield? My conclusion is that it is better to leave them, perhaps only risk going in if its a key weapon like portable AT weapons/demo charges.
  15. I appear to have stumbled across a persistent crash in the 3rd battle of the Scottish Corridor Campaign. The battle is called Hansel and Gretel. It crashes at 5 minutes into the battle every time. I have also re-tried from save from the earlier 2nd battle and had the same crash at the same point in time. Save game(s) are available if someone wants a look.
  16. Yeah, I managed a draw. I also lost the AT gun but had the MG and bazooka teams closer to the end. I contemplated an earlier cease fire but held out a bit longer...and
  17. I will give you a Spartan "type" quote: "In life, sometimes you cant win." I like this about CM although at times I warrant I find it exhausting.
  18. Agreed, even though I almost got rolled. Nice video, I could have done with some of that pinpoint accuracy.
  19. Trying to stop the AK using kohlenklau's Kasserine Rearguard mod. Ripley takes the shot under heavy fire and in a downpour.
  20. Maybe you should have renamed it "In for a Pounding"
  21. Ok, I had a go and came up with a minor defeat. it was VERY challenging, action packed and a bit of fun. I will PM you some feedback.
  22. I agree as well. As far as infantry standing their ground, based on what I have experienced so far, they need to ratchet the fragility levels back a bit. This stands out when you are up against difficult odds. There are no last stands anymore. A fighting withdrawal turns into a disordered route. The player has less control compared to v3.
  23. I have the Ebook versions of the Pen & Sword book "Eighth Army in Italy 1943 – 45 The Long Hard Slog" as well as several others. The Eighth Army book is quite good, reasonably detailed. As its the Eight Army its mainly about the British (and Canadians) so far. I am only a quarter of the way through. The only negative is the very limited and difficult to read maps (in the Ebook version and perhaps the paper version). You will need to look to other sources for that. Have no had a chance to get to the others yet.
