  1. Shame I am not in front of my computer for the weekend. But, the best would be to open the editor. Create a tank on one side. Two tank on the other side, one of them destroyed. Then you can play around the scenario to try to reproduce what you are seeing. Are you able to do this? Otherwise, I will try once I am back in town.
  2. This is strange because I do not have the same experience. Playing CMSF2, my US troops destroy a taxi. And, then, they use the wreck to obtain protection from small arms firing. This is the kid of whaou moment I like...
  3. LOL - I did not say this is easy and this is to be done for the current patches. This is just an investment going forward. The more modules or new games introduced, the more problems the beta testers will have to cover everything. And it will harder and harder to deliver patches that won't break game 1 or 3 to refer to Elvis' post. Sure, this will impact the developers to create the API / CLI needed. But, the developers don't necessarily have to write the tests. The super individuals with the positronic memories (sorry Star Trek ) may write them inside a common framework for testing automatically each changes on each games. Based on my own experience, the time gain is prodigious and allow to concentrate on the future instead of repeating over and over the same tests of the existing. But, yeah, you are completely right. I do not know the complexity behind TO&E database or the rest of all the CM software. You are the experts and you know what you are doing. This is just my experience and I can tell you that my testers are very happy of the automation framework we have built. Anyhow, a big THANK YOU for all the beta testers working hard to deliver those patches.

  5. In my work, we have resolved all these test combinations by developing test automation to insure regression testing so that we can concentrate on testing the new features of a given release. Don't you have hidden API to script at least TO&E tests? Seems this will be a useful investment.

  10. And yes sorry, this is an in-game fire support mission that I am ordering. I am a bit confused now too because I am unsure what the AI does using Area Fire. Here is the situation. I have designated group number 4 (A4) for the Mortar section: And, the order number 2 for the AI plan of group number 4 is to perform Area Fire of the same above ditch. Order number 2 starts 30 seconds after the beginning of the scenario. So, in this case, does AI perform an indirect fire mission or a direct fire mission? I assume a direct fire mission since AI is firing. Thanks
  11. And the other thing strange is that if I am selecting a "direct fire", the rounds are indeed fired without restriction.
  12. The target is at 332 meters. You are right if I am selecting a target around 400 meters away, the spotting rounds are launched. What is strange is why the fire mission is authorized before starting the scenario? The distance has not magically changed.
  13. What is funny is that doing the exact same thing BEFORE starting the scenario, the "on map" M1129 will immediately turns in firing position and will start firing once scenario starts. Due to this, I wonder. Is it a C3I problem? My OOB is on the following screenshot. Note that I have removed B company HQ, XO team and Fire Support Team. I am confused by the Delivery parameter set at 1 minute at one stage and nothing more happening next...
  14. Here is the complete sequence. I am using the 3rd platoon HQ to call indirect fire with the "on map" M1129. At 29:25 - status is RECEIVING with DELIVERY = TWO MIN At 29:16 - status is PREPARING with DELIVERY = ONE MIN At 28:50 - status is SPOTTING with DELIVERY = At 22:01, the M1129 turns in firing position but nothing happens. I stop to wait at 16:45. Scenario length is 30 minutes.
  15. Doing a small scenario example for AI triggers, I have seen that the "on map" M1129 or the spotter remains stuck in Spotting phase. I am using CMSF2 v2.01. Rarely the "on map" M1129 will fire, it happens once so far. But, usually, it will just remain stuck. In this situation, the "Delivery = " parameter remains empty as you can see on the below screenshot: Did anyone else notice this?
  16. Yes sorry because I am sure I have seen a thread about this but I can't find it. My problem is the following. I am using the "Print Screen" key to take screenshots for my DAR on CMBN. I have quite no issue even if I am losing little details compared to the real game display. But, with CMSF2, my screenshots are just horrible using "Print Screen" key. I am pretty sure I have seen alternatives. Is someone able to help me or sticky the good thread? Thanks a lot

  21. MINUTE 26 Given the caliber, what an horrible death... On the left, I am assaulting again the woods and I hope to succeed now. Same in the main objective, more troops are coming to secure the place. In the woods, on my left wing, I am now discovering the enemy... Suddenly, another artillery barrage is restarting. This is like if Germans have nothing more to do to stop me!? Here, I am a bit puzzled. The tank crew can now go back in their Sherman. Do you think I can move it again with three guys instead of five? My plan for next turn is a bet. All in to the last objective.
