To the point even the vagaries of spotting add to the experience rather than subtract. (Which accept, pretty bloomin' fringe view). However had called a night on game as Panzer IV immobilised itself in a wood about twenty metres shy of flanking annoying T34. For first time playing Blunting the Spear. Still on first mission, still confident of some level of win. Conditions pretty much perfect for armour. For all that; two immobilised tanks, three halftracks. Plus couple of "how can you not see that chuffing tank, you idiots" and a T34 still running around somewhere with a 75mm hole in its' top rear armour. Thought it was standard if it can go wrong it will. But now, now it all makes sense. Edit. Bugger, just seen Steves' reply. Going to pretend didn't.

Only just re-read intro since original purchase and has been tweaked to account for 2014. So now more closely linked to this reality. Is UKR under-represented, to what extent have their doctrines and tactics altered relative to the game? Aware received advice and training from West. The intro also provides win states for the protagonists, can you engineer a plausible win state for Russia? Based on what am seeing, bearing in mind in game US involvement how do you engineer actual engagements? Only challenge could see is US/UKR loss rates and/or massively inflated Russian numbers. Only how did the chuffing numbers plausibly get there because this reality would have to accept total air supremacy on US/UKR part. (TBH even in current alternate game always been a bit sus about Russia having air assets beyond drones. Then again ofcourse, drones). So from purely selfish point of view, believe Russia clearly Op but would have zero interest in this game reflecting that reality.

Windows 10? Been intending to add reply a while. Game still crashes in command but in line with my Feb 9 post reboots way quicker afterwards. Something. However machine on occasion conflicting Google too and bringing up same message as did for CM. No expert, computer still under warranty so taking in for check. Confident now however own problem absolutely nothing to do with game itself. Life gets in way a lot currently but if a fix found for own machine will report back at some point.

Schrullenhaft. For now have disabled Program, Launcher and wondershare and created exceptions for Black Sea and Blitzkrieg. Whole system pretty much defaults, no overclocks. Frustratingly not got the time to really dive into the game to see if had any effect, though computer unfazed by disabled programs and now boots even quicker than it did. So whether or not games sorted, seen a benefit. Has to be a good omen.

Thanks for response. Have problem with Black Sea and Final Blitzkrieg, do have full Normandy bundle but not actually played as yet. Crashing whilst 'idle' has happened two or three times but positive not due to computer idle - that kicks in after about fifteen minutes, where as am only leaving five at most when making a coffee. Majority is while moving mouse around map and or clicking on a unit. Have noticed that sometimes clicking on unit the 'thinking circle' pops up and message is 'wait for resolve or close' but it never resolves. Most regular is '.exe encountered a problem', sometimes whilst moving around sometimes clicking on units, occasionally in the few seconds just looking at map without input. As to removing items from launch too unsure as to which are safe to do so without guidance unfortunately. Edit. Checked startup; Chrome, Delayed launcher(2), Program, Realtek HD Audio Manager, Windows Defender Notification and Wondershare Studio. Do know problem predates wondershare but not what 'Program' could be.

Back Sea Russ campaign - first fight. Managed to cause self more casualties than AI. Have that side of things pretty much nailed thanks.:) Thankyou to all for such prompt responses. Pleased that D drive and max gx (particularly max gx) probably not cause. Shall check AV and drivers, though think drivers are up to date. Apologise now however as back to the grind of shifts so unlikely to be able to have a good look till Monday next. Last free night so shall carry on doing as have been; saving each and every turn. Current fight going well - not killed single one of own men.

Having problem with crashes during command phase. Game freezes, message comes up CM .exe has encountered a problem and will close. Always during command phase. Games themselves always boot no problem, have never crashed during a replay phase, only command. Couple of times has crashed in command phase whilst making a coffee, as in running fine only to come back coffee in hand to .exe encountered a problem. Annoying. Am using Windows 10 and a 1050Ti NVidea Gx card plus an I7 processor. (Aware game only uses single core). Sound a 2270W Nvidea High def audio. (Is that the sound card?). Do stubbornly play max gx, system put together in hope of gx overkill for CM games, have no mods however. Best can tell crashes not coinciding with virus checks etc, appear random. Have however installed games on D drive, C being SSD. Hoping that not problem as noted lot of Data pushed onto C drive.

Thankyou for the replies. Did suspect zones would be unmoddable. As to icons shall check those out though once battle joined do like the icons as they are, remind me of old board games used to play.

Sorry if this noob. Have real difficulty with Russians as the bright red counters on a bright red set up zone causing eye strain (am old). Have looked through unpacked files but can't seem to find what I'm looking for as would like to play with set-up zone colours and hopefully tone them down if possible.

Normal maps? .mdr files? Just want to play about with the T72. Lots more file extensions than I was expecting, do I need to bother with any of them or just the paint shop pro images. Normal maps particularly. Black Sea not the place but loving the game and soon as can afford purchasing Red Thunder. Are normal maps being used in that to create zimmeritt? Any help, advice, tutorials (Tutorials!) much appreciated.

Apologies taking a while to reply. Thankyou to all for your responses they were very helpful and I am now the proud owner of CS2. There is a slight tinge of guilt but it's overwridden by the desire to beat up, hopefully artfully, a T72. Oddly having more difficulty with Paint Shop Pro. Want it for the thumbnails. So far free versions are all trials wanting me to sign up to Corel before proceding and I have read that it is no longer free. Any additional help would be much appreciated.

Hello. Chrizwit3, has been Chrizwit and Chrizwit2 but time passes and passwords get forgotten. 2009 computer fried and died and all was lost because not a backup kind of person. Consoled self with a console and war-gaming also got forgotten. Other day watching Youtube a tad bored, typed in Combat Mission. Bit of a revelation. Binged through ChrisNDs' Black Sea videos, followed by Krause, Ithikial and JohnsyFGM. All excellent. Bought Black Sea. Want all the games, want to fight all the fights h2h from both sides, want to create uber videos, want to mod everything! Have got a bit excited. War-gamed from mid 80's thru to 09, more parade ground than frontline material, were he alive the Grand Old Duke of York would find me a smidge indecisive. All being said such fights possibly wouldn't make for gripping Youtube vids. Soooo.....erm does anyone know of any legitimate free photoshop stylee graphic packages. Have typed in photoshop and lots of free download sites turn up but don't trust them. Any help would be much appreciated.
