  1. Why bother to disband in order to reinforce so late in the campaign if you could simply let the remnants of the whole battalion to fight? I believe a degraded battalion would be an equivalent of two partly restored companies.
  2. Please don't do the 'disband' thing, it will kill the attrition and the force preservation aspect of the campaign. Like I said previously the campaign is manageable with the force you get (especially after you replaced the T-72 turms by T-55MV's in the mission I mentioned ). The infantry core of the campaign was more than enough up until the mission I mentioned in phase 3 and I got into trouble because it was the weakest company of all my forces (both two groups) that got that task. So again, it is a matter of only small tweaking to the core task assignment and rotation in my opinion. By the way, after reading your last posts I came to the conclusion that I had a contribution to my force attrition on that map since I methodically ignored your briefings on capture/win conditions (I achieved a surrender in all the missions before that mission that I believe was in phase 3). If I may suggest - you could do a "mini mission" before each of the two final missions where you only move/don't move a truck into a capture area and hit a ceasefire. If the player moves it in he gets a full/partial/whatever you decide Refit level. If the player hits the ceasefire without capturing the objective he continues with his forces as it is. P.S I believe I read somewhere I can combine depleted different squads but I tried and failed to do it in CMRT since the combine button only works on the same already split squad. Is it CMSF thing only? How do i do it in practice?
  3. It could be cool to have the combined force of the remnants of each battalion in some kind of a grand battle at the end of phase 3. I assume it is not how the campaign ends considering your force scale preferences?
  4. I played the original campaign only on the new CMSF2 engine (twice) since I skipped the original cmsf. Like you mentioned, I had a WTF moment during the first mission when the entire enemy force remained sitting inside the city after the massive artillery barrage. I guessed that the briefing wasn't taking into consideration the new engine and the new cover mechanic system Overall I enjoyed the campaign and didn't have any problems until the mission that I mentioned earlier where I was stuck (twice) due to core erosion and in my opinion an unbalanced company rotation.
  5. Great work Frank, I am really enjoying the partisans land campaign. Speaking of which, did any of the beta-testers have AMD gpu's? The third mission of the campaign crashes immediately after the setup phase. I don't get the "out of memory" error but is smells like that famous bug.
  6. Thanks for the fast reply Paper tiger. So the dynamic campaign is beatable by players that aspire to achieve as many enemy "surrenders" as possibly, and you are not punished for this kind of success. I think this unfortunate misunderstanding made me to avoid the original dynamic campaign. A little request if possible: Please don't cut out the "review your force condition" mini missions between the phases. Really liked that feature
  7. Ah, so just to be clear, my comment about the lack of force due to attrition in "The Tumah crossing" mission might be irrelevant since I played only the linear version of the campaign. I avoided the dynamic version after reading the briefing On a side note, I'm not exactly sure how the dynamic version works. Correct me if I'm wrong on this: If I am "too successful" in a few consecutive missions I get one (maybe even a few in a row) impossible mission/s. Could you elaborate a bit on the spike difficulty in that case: You already mentioned some early air support to the AI. Is a company of veterans replacing one of the companies of conscripts for the defenders possible? Better ATGM teams?. Is the difficulty spike applies to only one or a few missions in a row? Danny
  8. Almost forgot to ask you: Are you reworking the linear version of the campaign? If I remember correctly it had a dynamic version too, which I never played.
  9. Great news, I really happy to hear that you decided to update the "Road to Dinas" campaign paper tiger. just curious how are you gonna make "Sagger Point" playable with just one attacking company? If I remember correctly it had a pretty large and dense city on the attackers right flank, which was usually populated by at least with one reinforced company. So, if the player will attack with just one company I believe it would be problematic to achieve a surrender. note: I won this fantastic map twice with the AI surrendering, by sending 4 platoons to the right and 2 platoons to the left, and placing all the tanks in overwatch. Maybe it is possible to get a win by going only on one attack axis?
  10. Paper Tiger I'm really happy to hear that you didn't give up on the "Road to dinas" remake, it is my favorite user made CMSF campaign (Hasrabit is the runner up). The force preservation and management aspect in "Road to dinas" is simply amazing. And the Regimental force presentation (when you can review your whole remaining force) at the end of Phase 1 is brilliant idea. Erwin The mission that you describe is exactly were I was unfortunately stuck due to force erosion (The two core infantry companies that were responsible for this mission took terrible causalities during the other battles before I got to that mission, so I had barely one platoon at the start of the battle and another two understrength reinforcing platoons which were the remnants of the second company). And the fresh T-62MV company had a really tough time dealing with the T-72 Turms that came as the counterattack. I simply couldn't get the first shot on the T-72 Turms while standing on a high ground and aiming on their side while they were rolling in the valley. The T-72 Turms and the remnants of the ATGM's on the other side of the valley that I failed to knock off, spotted my tanks 1st and picked them off. A brutal map Paper Tiger When/If you decide to tweak the balance of the campaign while you redo it, could you look into the T-72 Turms/ T-62MV spotting disparities, I have the feeling that maybe the reason is the CMSF 2 balance changes. Danny
  11. Hi, Do you guys (the beta testers) work on the renewal of the campaigns in parallel? If so, could the team that is responsible for the British campaign update us on the status too? As somebody who plays single player only, I would greatly appreciate some news on the British front
  12. How long (number of missions, branching?) is the SP campaign that is included in this battle pack?
  13. By the way, did anybody play the market garden module campaigns post v3.0 patch (if I understand correctly from reading on the forum: the v3.0 patch created all this problems)? I wonder if I should start playing the market garden module campaigns, since I suspect they got the same nasty surprises. Can anybody confirm if those 2 campaings bugged\clear post v3.0 patch? Can I somehow roll back my game to v2.0 or other version that did not have the bugs I described? and the last question: Are there any user made campaigns supporting version 3.0? I didn't see on the repository the engine version listed in user made campaigns.
  14. Hi there, decided to create a new thread concetrating all the bugs I encountered in the Kampfgruppe Engel campaign. I will list in 1 liners all the bugs I already saw reported on the forum. (I purchased the whole cmbn bundle cmbn + 2 modules, if this matters version wise) 1. 2 PzKpfw and 1 panther missing in mission 2, didn't loose them in mission 1. 2. 2 PzKpfw and 1 panther missing in mission 3, didn't loose them in mission 1. 3. mission 3: the abandoned king tiger getting whacked\crippled by the bazooka team deployed near it. Nothing to save by the time I get there unless I savescum. 4. maybe a bug: 75mm ATG is not visible when in tow mode, did the germans tow their guns inside the halftracks? 5. on mission 4, the 75mm ATG dissapears, when I tell it to disembark only the crew is seen. The workaround that is suggested on the forum won't work, since the gun comes with the reinforcement. 6. Now, to the bug(bug?) that made me ragequit: mission 4, I have to stop\intercept the canadian armor coulumns. In the briefing the conditions described: light fog, 800 meters max visibility what I get is under 400 meters LOS (light blue line) with both infantry and armor (checked in different places, on flat ground, ETC.... But it is getting worse: in practice my infantry and armor spot enemies only 100 meters away. I basically lined up almost all my armor near the exit zones out of frustration and the canadian ghost armor is materializing out of nowhere and popping out AROUND my tanks at distance of under 100 meters........ At this point I gave up on this campaign (Ignoring the bugs, this is the best campaign I tried out of the 4 campaigns of the vanilla and commonwealth) Thnks for reading the wall of text English is not my native language, sorry for any grammar mistakes. Hope you fix the bugs, this wonderful campaign deserves to be playable again.
