  1. Hello, I think the system we have now works great. Like a previous posted said earlier, it's preferable to split into teams for tactical purposes hence positioning and flanking. The issue I have is sometimes I lose track of squad cohesion and have to search around to rejoin squads, if the battle gets messy. I propose an indicator connecting the squad similar to the command and control line.
  2. Hello, I noticed this issue with all the AFVs. If you notice the Bradleys and BTRs in the practice range, they will engage at max range with their auto-canons and rarely missiles against the T-72s. I think the max range targets are like 2 klicks out or so. This is really quite annoying and I hope they hot fix it soon.
  3. Hello sburke, I'm quite old myself and understand exactly where you're coming from. I have played Squad Leader, Panzer General, and ASL back in the day and always dreamed of something like this. I'm also new to the series with Black Sea. Sadly what turned me off initially to the series was the graphics of CMx1. I had watched YouTube battles from people and it looked kind of silly. But to be honest I haven't felt this way about a game since CC: A Bridge to Far, which was the reason why I purchased my first 'super' computer. So, I became hooked on the CC series. G.I. Combat wasn't too bad but the engine was rather limiting with not having building levels and such. Matrix games has taken the torch of CC but it just doesn't feel the same. Black Sea fills the 'void' I had of my combat needs way more then what I expected. I just can't get enough! I enjoy the WeGo, especially, so I can see all the carnage unfold up close and personal. The graphics aren't all that bad on my aging PC. I'll probably pick up Red Thunder eventually once I can muster up the time and money. So, yeah, you're not alone.
  4. I'm new to the game and forum but I'm glad you did not bite the dust! P.S. I forgot to add, I'm OLD too.
  5. Thanks for the reply Ian. Yeah, I tried what you said and it did seem to work eventually after I wasted quite a few minutes. What compounds the frustration is a soldier will call out, "enemy vehicle spotted," and then hit the dirt. I hope they modify the TacAI to eventually make ATGM teams more offensive against vehicle targets. If the team didn't have anti-tank weapons or out of range, it wouldn't be so bad them eating the dirt without taking a breath. On a side related note, during MOVE orders, teams won't duck from fire when being shot at. They just keep meandering along until a squad mate gets hit and then they get rattled or even panic. They should automatically duck for cover WITHOUT cowering. It's an automotive response. If they have FAST move or ASSAULT I can see them braving live fire while moving more realistically.
  6. Hello Community, Was just wondering if this problem is engine related or squad/team behavior. I was playing the mission, "Opportunity Knocks" as the U.S. Army. I positioned one of my Javelin sections on a cabbage field that has a slight elevation over the area where the Strela Carriers are located. The issue was my Javelin gunner would, "go to ground" and lose sight of the AA vehicle. I'd have to give them a move command so they could see it again but they just "go to ground" and can't target the vehicle, because his head is behind a 'head' of cabbage. It's very frustrating. Do I need to be more patient and the gunner will pop his head up or go to a kneeling stance?
