    CMBS game

Up for CMBS game. I'll take US. If you're interested please drop me a PM.
  4. I have seen BMP-2s fire ATGMs but never BMP-2Ms.
  5. Seriously, the main problem here is that your opponent purchased a very gamey force, essentially buying all the Tunguskas in Russian service for one QB match. With BMP-2M Kornets not firing right now, Russia definitely doesn't need another one of its assets taken away.
  6. I think this was debated long enough in the "Because Bradley" thread and I don't remember how it ended.
  7. As US, use Javelin-equipped infantry in every unexpected place. Let them cower before that hand of doom. Also, my signature is a testament to the finest rule revealed to us in this thread.
  8. Really? How reliable are the rumours? That would be a dream come true.
  9. Agreed. WiC was a very special game. It's a shame that the company closed down. Colonel Orlovsky and Major Lebedyev were absolutely lovely, especially Orlovsky with his warm voice.
  10. I kinda agree with Steve, this data may have been "a little bit" too much, but not "that" much. Talking about OPSEC breaches, I remember reading on Wiki that US soldiers had posted geo-tagged pictures of their bases on social media and Taliban had used those coordinates to launch mortar attacks... I literally facepalmed after reading that. That was practically a breach of "common sense", not OPSEC.
  11. Actually they feel more like "prison" rules rather than "house" rules.
  12. Russia is not so stupid as to nuke any country. The fact that they've tried to cover everything up in Ukraine shows that the Russians are aware of their rather precarious position in the face of the international community. In addition, this is no longer the Soviet Union, centered around ideology. Russia is ruled by Oligarchs who are, above all, concerned about their money and security. A nuclear war is out of the question for these guys. Don't get me wrong, Russia is surely trying to regain its lost position as a global power. And I don't disagree with everything in the article (and frankly, I lack the knowledge necessary to refute most of its points), but I was talking about the general theme of it. Using Armata's IFV in an argument is like arguing how the PAK FA will wrestle air supremacy away from F-22s and how Russia will be able to afford thousands of them while the USAF only has ~200 F-22s.
  13. Overall it points out interesting things, but I have a feeling that it is rather exaggerating Russian capabilities. The fact that Russia has contingency plans to invade Poland are... well, do they prove that Russia actually can do that? I don't think so. It's effectively trying to portray today's Russia as a resurgent USSR, which it is not. In the last slide, I fail to understand some of the points in red. "Copy Russian FCS"? "Electric armor on Lt-Veh"? What does Electric Armour mean?
  14. I've had great success with Grey Eagles. I don't usually use Ravens in QBs, but in scenarios I usually try to use them as kinophile mentioned, although one is never enough and if I have only one Raven, I probably will save it for later and then never use it. But overall, drones take long to spot troops and they also take long to spot concealed vehicles, but will spot vehicles in the open in a turn or two. But Grey Eagles are awesome. Invulnerable observation, plus 4 Hellfires? Yes, please.
  15. Instead of spotting troops, it puts spots on troops.
  16. Their turret, which is protected by Duplet, is very resilient. I've had several instances of sabot hitting the turret and just detonating the ERA. But the hull is terribly vulnerable.
  17. Yeah. In the T-90AM vs Abrams fight, you can find some relief in the though that if you do spot the enemy, you may have a chance of killing him with the first shot. But in the Oplot vs T-90AM fight, it's effectively "alright, I'm screwed".
  18. IMHO, Black Sea is the best game out there (please don't kill me for using the word "game" though! ) for what it does: simulating tactical combat below and around battalion level. Despite all its drawbacks, it's a very rewarding experience. Nothing beats the feeling of accomplishment when you sneak a Javelin team in and destroy the enemy's precious Tunguska and then call in a deadly airstrike.
  19. The legend goes that even Noah's lifetime didn't suffice for him to see a sale of CM games.
  20. I think you should give those questions numbers so people can answer them more easily. Anyway, I'm gonna copy the glorious style of the great Armoured Sour Cabbage Launcher. Re: Deployment in buildings You gotta check them out yourself, it's ~2 minutes. The very long deployment time of crew-served weapons in buildings has been discussed elsewhere (I think in the CMRT forum). I think the AT-13 deploys much faster than the AT-14 though. Re: ATGMs being spotted by armour Well, it really depends. The Abrams' sensors are the best in the game, so I've had instances of AT-14s being detected from ~1 km or more after launching just ONE missile. If you use the AT-14 and AT-13 as you would use the Javelin, you'll fail. Usage of Khrizantemas (due to radar-based spotting) and T-90s together with infantry ATGMs is key. Re: Arty on tanks It does degrade sensors. And it rather easily immobilises tanks. Re: Game points It depends on battle size. Re: RPO It does work against infantry in buildings, though I've found myself taking more casualties from RPGs than RPOs due to their wider proliferation. Re: Adding elements to BN tac groups I think you should add them to lower levels, it makes more sense organisationally.
  21. Haiduk pointed out in some other thread (don't remember which) that the best Ukrainian APFSDS round is still insufficient for the frontal armour of T-90s and that's why they give priority to ATGMs over sabot. The turret ERA of the Oplot is actually quite tough and stops T-90 sabot rounds. But the hull is terribly vulnerable. Same for turret's side.
  22. The in-game sound of the Abrams vs Bradley perfectly captures that feeling. You can almost hear the rust in Bradley's sound.
