  1. Rejoined., yes but thats what caused the problem in the first place. You cant use the combined rifle fire of your entire squad unless your willing to risk them going mental and using the Javelin on the infantry target.lol.
  2. Having to split a squad just to try stopping it wasting Anti tank ammo on infantry seems extreme. Your loosing 1/4 of your 8 man teams firepower when you need it. On the off chance your javelin guy goes berserk. If the game doesn't have that in it yet. It needs it. In that scenario I remember having a 4 man squad with a Javelin. You cant split that . our stuffed.
  3. I was gutted when playing USA campaign scenario 2. I had 2 Javelins wasted by troops firing them at infantry. I couldn't believe it! Id used limited fire arks so they didnt take pot shots at light armor in the distance. I wanted to save it for tanks later. So when when my big squad attacked the village with the recon troops in it, it shot a javelin at the officer squad in the trees! WTF. lol. Then next turn it did the same. In a scenario thats all about armor. I could well have done without this . lol.
  4. Ive got to the 3rd US campaign game and it has mines and foxholes. How do I place these on the map where I want? I cant find info anywhere in the manuals. Yes I have looked . They must be movable I saw a youtube vid where they had placed the mines so It must be possible. Help much appreciated
  5. Well the fact I have no LOS and Im using a UAV seems to cover it. I would have thought a UAV counted. Sounds like a bug or a missed opportunity here
  6. As a Steel Beasts 2 guy . Which is supposed to be a training tool rather than a game. I ound that while your using your thermals most of the time they are no where near as good as the general public thinks. Its still hard to see targets a lot of the time. Regarding laze time. i dont think CM has it right. You have to track a target around 3-4 seconds to get fire control on it. You can hold off lazing to the last moment though. Then laze, you hear the gun move and fire. Maybe a second? That all takes much less time that in CM where they turn the turret and pop smoke. By the time the smokes out the round would already be on the way. Ive done this many times , even with the odd American floating gunsight the M1 has. In battles with formations you can switch between targets without lazing in a rush so they would get no notice of the shot other than their neighbor getting hit. I wouldnt switch to battlesight unless the primary sight was busted. Remember you can manually dial in range too and also range nearby terrain. so the enemy itself might neverr get lased before the first shot. The sight is configured with mil marks and is designed for snapshot firing. At ranges like 600m its not like you need a lazer.
  7. Wondering if there are any mods which improve the artillery explosions. The particle dome kind of blast in game looks a little limp. Yes I have looked in the mod thread. I didnt see anything obvious there . Any help much appreciated.
  8. Sometimes IM bringing artillery in and it takes ages to fire for effect. 4 turns. sometimes more and I give up, spotting rounds hit wildly all over the place. Sometimes it seems to work quick. Anyone know what effects this. Im currently using on map mortars, My OP is a mortar team leader with a UAV and its going terrible.
  9. Im on American mission 3. There's a 2 floor house with bad guys upstairs shooting down a raised road I'm on. They can shoot at me. I cant get LOS on the house because its base is below the level of the raised road. So I cant fire back at them. I could demolish the upstairs with my Bradley but I cant lock on the house. grrr.
  10. Dont know if it got said earlier in the thread. The fact were fighting on Russian border makes a difference. We cant strike their airfields as that starts WW3 . They will probably be shooting up the Ukrainian fields. The allies would be limited as to which airfields they can use as some of the NATO countries will refuse use of their fields or airspaces. Such as Turkey has done in the past. So there would be an element of Russia fighting at full weight with a full sam umbrella. And some of their stuff is very good like SA10. The allies with one hand behind their back. Thin on the ground and hampered by political issues. No ones wanting WW3 to start so this isnt a " normal" US vs third rate force scenario.
  11. I tried the planned tactic of frontal use of firepower.that went bad. Tried to use cover of road almost everything on the right couple of left behind atgm on L flank. That worked better but I can't seem to be able to flank the bmp,s on the tree line without loosing several of those rubbish wheeled ifv,s Anyone got any good tactics with no arty it turns into a bit of a tank rush to gain localised firepower superiority. Since this campaign has no replenishment how many vehicles and men can I afford to loose in scenario 1
  12. Was first Ukrainain campaign mission. Didnt notice if its wet. Ill look at the briefing again.
  13. I appear to have one of my Ukranian 6 wheeler IFV immobilized when I drove it through a plowed field. is that normal or a bug? This is in the middle . Not smashing though a hedgerow or something.

  15. I think Chinese players would love a game where they get to kick some western ass. Its hugely popular in the Battlefield series. I found there are tons of people still playing Battlefield 2 and the servers where all Chinese . lol. Theres potential there. Lots of cool vehicles. Chinese have those long range carrier killers in the future and their own stealth planes. wouldnt be one sided soon. As a scenario though doesn't really feel realistic . not for decades anyway. Personally Id rather have full NATO panoply in BS. I have no interest in a WW2 Asian game. Nor 50's Korea or Vietnam.
  16. Last night I have this recon HUMVE with a 50 cal . It runs out of ammo. Theres 500 rounds on board the hummer so I get the crew to acquire it. But they do nothing. they wont reload the 50 cal. Its external but Im not buttoned up. Why wont they reload. Its been like 5 turns and they just do nothing. There isnt a reload button is there?
  17. Sorry to ask such a noobish question but getting confused with ability to dismount troops. Is there a way to stack orders so troops dismount and the vehicle them moves away. Or is it only possible to have troops dismount a the end of the vehicles movement for a turn? Which seems a bit " gameish" but I cant seem to get troops to dismount any other way. Yes I have read the manual. It seems to be saying end of vehicle movement only. Help much appreciated
  18. Ah well. Had hoped for an end of the week release but I guess Itll be next week now. Just have to make do with what I got and get back to Normandy over the weekend
