  1. Those aren't grenades. It is supposed to be a representation of the soldiers storming the tank, prying the hatches open and murderizing those inside. Which is a lot harder to do against a modern tank than WWII ones. So it's less common, but can still happen.
  2. Best of the series. Can't get this game play anywhere else.
  3. Radically different designs made for different purposes. It is the Sherman vs Tiger debate set in modern times.
  4. Gravy boat this is baby biscuit, the ham is in the sandwich, i repeat, the ham is in the sandwich.
  5. There are certain systems like the Abrams where there is no point in just getting a range. Since as soon as you lase the gun is automagically ranged and leads the target. If you lase nearby, it doesnt help you since you'd have to dump the lase in order to actually put the gun back on target and re lase to actually be able to shoot the target.
  6. So what exactly is holding you guys up? Soldiers still breakdancing like in the phase line green mission?
  7. Work faster devs, i command it. :Crackswhip:
  8. So having even a basic knowledge of MBT's will let you know that the loader only has acsess to a small number of rounds readily avaliable for the main gun. And after watching some of Chris's streams it frightens me to see AI gunners wasting these valuable rounds on single infantry. Is there any feature for a tank to pull back and have the crew restock ammo from the magazine? I don't think its out of the scope of a single battle for this to be possible. And it'd help reduce my constant fear of the AI wasting all its ammo. Side note: Is body armor modeled?
  9. With a HMG you can engage from BEYOND ranges of what any small arm or mmg could hope to return fire. Thats the advantage, its a big round going very far that hurts very much.
  10. Nothing is going to save you from all this modern tech. No special suit, no slathering of mud, no heat vent coming from your rear. Times are changing, adapt or die.
  11. If they weren`t spotted on the way in, you don`t even have to tell units to hide. Just give them a target arc where they won`t engage anything. Usually they won`t be spotted unless the enemy is very close, or they start firing out of the windows.
  12. I can only speak for no. 4 And what you see in videos from the middle east is a case of nothing threatening the helicopter, leaving it free to fly high and fire down on targets. Giving it a nice tight cluster like you say. But when you are in this environment, where AA and SAM launchers are everywhere. The choppers are forced to fly low, use tree lines or terrain as cover for pop-up attacks. Since they won't be up high the trajectory for the rounds will be flat and spread in a long line.
  13. If you are getting hit, you are doing something wrong. Armor that works is great, but you still want to avoid having to rely on it.
  14. I dont see why some sort of basic functionality afforded in every other strategy game ever is such a contreversy here. Theres a way to get this type of stuff to work, but it wont happen if people give it flak before it even has a chance to get out of the hangar. How about only recieving reports from hq units? "2nd platoon engaging armor" is better than nothing, and avoids having 4 squads report the same thing to you.
  15. I wish everyday this was cm was on steam. I even launch them through steam so i can have access to the overlay. One day maybe. But for now the master installers are a step in the right direction.
  16. I believe this falls under the category of close combat in combat mission. Would be nice to see some actual hand to hand stuff, even if it's abstracted like in APoS, where the soldiers just kick at each other.
  17. Longtime lurker/player, first post here. But I have to say, this AAR is written B E A utifully. Keep it up!
