Hello all, I'm getting back to CM after a while and I'd like to play several scenarios (I played very few so far) and campaing (none so far), therefore I'm wondering which are the best scenarios/campaigns out there, do you have any suggestions? For scenario I would prefer balanced and/or fun to play against a human oppoenent. Any size, official or not. Thanks in advance

Game end! It was a nice infantry scenario with force even as numbers but the American troops have the edge as quality. American airborne In the first part of the game I had only a full platoon of paratroopers waiting the rest of the E Company in 30 min. I did small pushes and taken little terrain because I can be easily outflanked, in fact the Germans started to push hard on my right and I made an order withdrawal. Finally arrived my guys and I counterattacked in the left under the trees cover, and I sent another 2 squads to help the right flank that was starting to collapse. Mortars and superior firepower have been helpful to knocked out both AA guns and the German morale was in bad shape. Now I started to push in the center and the house near the bridge was taken, my opponent surrender few turns later. Fun game and thanks for the game! Maybe the game is too long, the American has all the time to chew up the German defence piece after piece.

Hello, I'm rather new as well and I can tell you what I did to find reliable opponents. First question: join a club, here the three that I'm aware: We Band of Brothers The Few Good Men The Blitz Good players, easy to find opponents, nice talk. Then they run tournaments, campaigns, and so on. Second question: here you can find the last version of CMHelper. Very useful program that keeps track of all your games (who is waiting, engine versions, etc.) and you can chat with your opponents.

Sorry if my post was not so clear. I mean if you use Target Briefly and then a Movement order (maybe Reverse) your tank will not fire and then will move but it will do both actions togheter (firing retreating in the same time). If you don't use a fire order but just Pause and then a Movement order it will fire if spot something and then it will retreat (not immediately but after the pause). What are you saying is that if you set a Pause (15 sec.), a Target Briefly (15 sec.) and finally a Movement order it will fire in the first 15 sec and the movement will start immediately after?

It works if you don't use a fire order, but if you plot the Target Briefly order and then a Movement order they aren't sequential, your unit will move firing to the target.

I have the same feeling, therefore if I have enough reserve troops I switch them after an heavy fight (even if they are of inferior quality).
