...I managed to remove the Battlefront files from my scanning options, seems to have done the trick.

They seemed to work ok (once Radeon fixes were in place) however for whatever reason my antivirus doesn't like them! I can start the game if I turn it off- oddly enough turning back on during play doesn't seem to bother the game- just can't seem to start it with the AV on. I'm using Eastlink's AV which is a version of F-secure.
