  1. @Paper Tiger I've taken a break from hanging up my girlfriend's Xmas decorations, and dug out my old D-day Then and Now Vol. 2. There is indeed a picture of a knocked out Stug from 709 on page 398. Okeh, back to work.
  2. You did indeed mention PS. I just hadn't realised it was that bad.
  3. Oh, yes. That would make sense. I'd forgotten about them. Blame a rotten cold. Were they included in AH's "The Longest Day" by any chance?
  4. Which units would the Stugs have belonged to mate? I can't find any record of there being any on the Cotentin on D-day. Of course, we didn't have horseless fighting vehicles in my day. So what the hell do I know?
  5. Sadly, having taken a more detailed look, these are really not my cup of tea. Although you have done a reasonable job with the maps. Basing them on PS really does expose what it for what it is; a childish shoot 'em up dressed up to look like WW2. I'm not sure which was the biggest insult to my intelligence. The SS arriving on Utah Beach in tanks on D-day, or Best being dominated by a church on a rocky escarpment. Ho hum.
  6. It will be quite a while before I can give these a whirl. But, they do look interesting. I still had enough hair to "Spike", the last time I went to Best.
  7. It is always good to see it when someone is prepared to admit to making a mistake. Even if it didn't effect my own enjoyment of the campaign. Well done PT.
  8. More good news from the Tigerman. I think that splitting it into two separate campaigns is a great idea. I get my Limey arse kicked twice over.
  9. Oh, thank you so much for the reply. I shall certainly give it a whirl when it is finished.
  10. Always glad to be of help. No CM lessons today. Just a piece of advice for life in general. "Never trust anyone called Charles Stewart."
  11. @Brille is spot on. Al the time they've got their hands up, and no white flag appears, it means that they have mates lurking in the shadows.
  12. Having been away for quite a while for health reasons, both my own and my PC's. Did this reworking ever get finished?
  13. My apologies. It has been 45 years since I did "O"-level Geography. And I only got a "C".
  14. Very late to the party. But I can't get either the berets, or the uniforms bearing the para insignia to show up at all.
  15. Declan and I batted a few ideas around. Then given the fact that I am a complete duffer when it comes to these new fangled mechanical typewriter whatsits, he provided me with a link to the Microsoft C ++ (x86) thingamybob, which worked. I just have to cobble together some new music mods as I lost all the ones that I created some years back when my old PC died.
  16. I think that it was always different to the other titles on my old machine with it's own sub-folder. And "yes" I accepted the default locations. If I can't sort it tomorrow I will certainly call on Declan's help.
  17. I completely baffled by this. CMFI and CMFB run fine on my new machine, but I'll be bound if I can get Normandy to work.
  18. If I'm ever able to get the game working again I'll certainly give this a whirl.
  19. When I first bought the CMFI Gustav Line bundle years ago I put together a mod called "Limeys on the Med" which as the name suggests consisted of songs by US artists which had originated in the UK. It was lost when my old PC went bang, but I might recreate if the CMFI bug bites.
  20. I've just taken another look. I'm not quite sure how it happened but I ended up with both a wmv file and a wav file. That's the problem with being 400 years old, we have no idea how these automated writing machines work. Having sussed it, I will hold Miss Dirttrack's version in reserve. And use the recording made by Charlie and his Orchestra when I play as the Jerrys
  21. Although you might want to check it, as it appears to me that you have included both the video and music in the one file, which prevents it from working in game.
