They most certainly are. Give me a quart of Elizabeth's "Whitehall Brain Buster Ale" any day. -

You seem to be forgetting that LOS does not equal LOF. Judging by your screenshots, your unbuttoned commanders can see the Shermans. But, their eyes are obviously somewhat higher than the gunner's sights, and therefore it is quite possible that you have no LOF. In a situation like this, it might have paid you to give your armour Target Arcs and slow movement commands up to the hedgerow across the road, rather than having two rows of hedges in front of you. Of course, whether this would have helped can only be tested if you provide save files to your fellow forumites. -
Nice work, thanks.

Welcome back. Your site certainly looks worth checking out.

If your fighting a stand alone battle there is nothing to lose by using them as infantrymen. But, if you are fighting a campaign, then you might want to keep them safe for future missions.

Downfall: Enjoying the module?
Warts 'n' all replied to Myles Keogh's topic in Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg
You're right @Myles Keogh did mention two campaigns in his original post. I'll confine myself to "Claymores Through Kleve" until I lose it. Exits stage right doing a Tiny Tim impersonation "Tiptoe through the minefields with me". ---------------------------> -

That is the campaign that I was talking about. And you're right, francophone names are a bit thin on the ground. They seem to be confined to just the senior officers. But, I'm still enjoying it, win, lose, or draw. -

(Not much of a) Spoiler Alert You actually kick off the campaign with French Canadian troops. They probably don't take too kindly to being referred to as "Jocks". Oh, well, c'est la vie, as Chuck Berry once said. -

Elizabeth lifts her eyes from her Whitehall Gazette, chuckles and says, "He got you there Noddle Head". Thanks for the correction. I'm blaming the fact that getting stuck in a minefield plays havoc with my typing. -

My thoughts were pretty much along the same line. I shall have to contend myself with getting my Limey arse kicked in the Reichswald. I've already put together a new music mod "Jocks in the Wald". -
Calm down lads, we can work it out. As Macca often said to Jane Asher.

Is there intentional friendly fire?

Yes, that mission rings a few bells. Bullets flying everywhere. -

Oh, damn, blast, and fiddlesticks. Yes, I meant Point 1. Exits stage right, mumbling "Silly old fool" to himself. ------------------> -

Point 2. It sounds to me that what you are describing is unintentional friendly fire. It occurs rarely, and normally when a friendly unit has been fired on by an unseen enemy, and fires back in the direction of a friendly unit by mistake. -
Capturing/Controlling a Towns

In any mission you play you don't have to occupy every building in a victory location. But, what you must do is make sure that it is free of enemy units. Whilst having at least one unit somewhere within the victory location yourself. Alternatively, punish the enemy so hard that they surrender.
