  1. Thanx. I'll be reading the shoot and scoot topic soon as well. If I understand the manual the first press of pause is 15sec, then 30sec and so on. But I might be using it wrong.
  2. So for example with a mission like Al Hawl, which I've played several times, I've won most of them. But my casualties are high and I feel stuck out there. How would one go about this mission regarding controlling the best vantage points such as the two major cross streets there where the enemy tanks are rolling into the city? It's dangerous placing infantry on top of the buildings as once their spotted...look out. When playing Wego I don't know how to make them shoot and then hide out of the way. If real time I pop them up and then back once they fire off a javelin. Any help is greatly appreciated for overall tactics in such a scenario.
  3. Thanx for all your help guys. These are great suggestions. Yes it does seem a bit easy if you use the overwhelming firepower of the blue forces. So I mainly am trying to keep casualties low.
  4. Definitely good advice. I try to play realistically. I know that in real life you'd want to stay as far as possible. It ain't the movies.
  5. I'll stop now. I felt uncomfortable bring up another company's product on the Battlefront board. Now I feel even more uncomfortable for extending the conversation. Thanx for your help.
  6. Thanx Spinoza. For some reason their forums don't work for me. I just get a blank screen.
  7. Not knowing much about these games, it looks like it might be a fun game. IF I CAN GET INTO IT. I find the interface very tricky at this point. CMSF seemed much easier for me to navigate around. I don't want to say anything "negative". It's just that I find it difficult at this point to get into the game. I do enjoy that it has an encyclopedia. But the documentation is sparse. I love the large manuals in CMSF....and Marines.
  8. I'm talking about another sim, hopefully that doesn't get me into trouble. But I did find APOS for $4.99 at Gamersgate. So I'll be trying it out. I'm not sure when I'll have the time to really get into it as I mostly play Shock Force right now and am pretty busy with real life. But I also crave some WW2 type sim action. I figure for the of $4.99 price it couldn't hurt. Eventually I'd like to get either CMBN or CMFI as well. But I don't want to spend too much money at the moment.
  9. Roger that. Seeing as I still have 6 months left on the current AVG subscription, I didn't' want to change. But would have if that didn't work.
  10. I had the same issue. I had to go into the Resident Shield under advanced and place exceptions there as well. I only did the exceptions for the exe file and it works. So I have exceptions in two places: 1. Potentially Unwanted Programs 2. Resident Shield Then it worked.
  11. Thanx for the bit of advice. I need to learn to use the quick battles. For some reason I just hadn't thought about it. I was thinking, well the missions are already there to try. But for example Al Hawl....very difficult for me. But I finally achieved Total Victory on Elite level.
  12. Yeah. I saw these and plan to read them as well. There is so much to learn. But thus far I can't seem to stop laying CMSF. I was thinking of getting Normandy or Italy as well.
  13. I tried to update just using Toshiba's update program. It said I was updated. So then I went to the Device Manager where the driver was from early 2012. So i clicked update. It's now up to 02/2013. But it appears to have worked. I loaded a mission, just to see. But I didn't play it. Had to go to church. I'll try later tonight. But it appears to be working now. Thanx for your help.
  14. Just saw some old threads regarding the same issue. I guess us Intel HD 4000 gfx users are out of luck. Oh well. My old laptop was an AMD and I never had any issues. I figured the new HD 4000 would be fine. I was wrong...oh well.
