  1. Dunno about 1, sorry As to 2 most of the csenarios of the month are standard scenarios provided by the game not custom made so do not require downloading.
  2. Yes my very first thought, hmmmm I could see some wondeful scenario possibilities using marines (US, Royal etc) and airmobile forces (Paras etc) especially if based arpound a campaign on the edges vs; militias supported by whatever the OPFor could string together. Include some rear echelon units dragged into defences in such a mobile operation. Easy to justify CM sized battles. I become more interested with this game < strangely.> I thought I was more interested 70's and 80's era cold war operations.
  3. Oh What????? Really????? WHY ME????? I get a free 3-day weekend, NO family, no jobs, ..... just free to game and game and game ........ then this happens - sheesh that's another thing - this is at least month of productivity out the window! Anyway Thanks Bill, if it's not clear from the above: This is great news, I love your AAR's learn something every turn. Genuine and sincere thanks to you,... Also BFC note the fact that it's your AAR's got me to finally press the button and purchase CMBN (and all it's DLC) after a few years "lurking with intent". Kudos

  8. As a inveterate lurker on these forums, I rarely comment, however I want to thank both GAJ and Bil for their excellent reports. You both taught me a lot and entertained me most royally. Many Many Thanks.
  9. Just to say I am REALLY enjoying this (and the last) AAR and as a wargamer of 35 years experience I really appreciate the work you two are putting in. More directly relevant to recent comments I have always been in favour of playing for fun and to learn about warfare through history. To explain I've always preferred to play with v.limited restrictions on force structure, simply ones that prevent really stupid/gamey and ahistoric forces (eg all tanks, swarms of trucks and arty etc). For me the FUN of wargaming has always been the playing and learning about problems posed by enemy forces when you have NO idea what is facing you (just like in real life). If this means I get steamrolled, that's fine as I will try and take satisfaction from causing my oponnent any problems at all In addition if you have NO restrictions other than vaguely historic/rarity OOB's the FOW and scouting become ABSOLUTELY vital and interesting part of the game. It also allows deception and mind games to come into their own. Maybe I'm alone here but I find an overwhelming loss against an opponent who had a better force mix, but admits they were bamboozeled by my forces/tactics and uncertain of victory for most of the game much more satisfying than a victory won by winning the pre game negotiation! I also absolutely refuse to play again against players I believe to be excessively gamey.
