When I was Artillery School, it was always a running joke that some of the Marine instructors (we all go to Artillery School at Fort Sill, OK, Army and Marines, and instructors are a mix of Army and Marines), would keep the Marine LTs after class to tell them "what of all this good $hit you just learned about we DON'T have." So I think the USMC must have been worse off than the Army at the time.
Reagan also had the good timing that he came into office when a number of the new, much higher quality weapons programs came to fruition, M1, M2, M3, B1, etc. Some had been started years before, languished and finally became production ready. William Perry as under-sec of def under Carter had much to do with that quality vs quantity push. (need enough qualitative superiority to overcome the numerical superiority). Personally, I was always grateful for Carter for the 2 very large raises we got in one calendar year. Made a huge difference in quality of life. Probably kept many good soldiers IN the military.

You need to enable negative voting because nothing bad could possibly happen if you did that. 😈(sarcasm)
But seriously, I think negative feedback is abused in most places and causes an "echo chamber" effect, not to mention a more toxic environment.  Good choice @BFCElvis.  I would thank an upvote you but...

After 1942 that was certainly true. But following the KMT Left-Right split of 1927, General von Falkenhausen stepped into the shoes of the Soviets as the KMT's key military adviser, and reorganized their forces on German lines. That of course ended after 1937 when the Germans chose the invading Japanese as their preferred partner in East Asia.
But while it's plausible that some German kit, including helmets, remained in use by 1945, yes, I'd expect frontline formations to have US gear. Like this! (NOT a war movie, though one of the finest Chinese films I have ever seen, and highly recommended.  Minute 27:30)
... But remember, the Chinese do love their costume dramas, and the coal scuttles underline that whole 'KMT = wicked fascist foreign puppets' meme the CPC still likes to push today.
Continuing my ongoing (and I hope, good natured) joust with my esteemed old comrade @Erwin, war films need to be considered in the context of their time and cultural agenda: that includes the HBO Pantone stuff!

Not really - that, and despite me repeatedly mentioning here that in my 4 years of active duty as a combat medic we never, ever trained once to treat casualties while prone, there are certain members here who continue to ignore that.

The M60A1 & M60A2 had a stereoscopic rangefinder which uses two eyepieces and relies on the tank commander to spin a range wheel until the two images merge into a single picture.  When you had a sharp single image, it gave you the range to the target in meters and mechanically adjusted the gunner's sights to that range.  The TC then gave the fire command (in this case 1,500 meters) as, "Range one five hundred meters.  Fire!".
To save time and insure first round fired, veteran tank commanders and their gunners would pre-set the rangefinder to a "battlesight" range; either 1200 or 1600 meters depending on SOP.  As soon as the gunner "Identified" the target in his sights, the TC fire command would be an immediate, "Battlesight, fire!".  The gunner would check for "Burst on Target", re-aim to the point of impact and fire again until TC declared, "Target destroyed."

I just don't want to see a bunch of weirdness dragged into this hobby/place like has plagued and destroyed a lot of others in the last few years. I have made the maps public before, and I was the only person to do this.
I felt really bad about it in heinsight.
If BFC gives me the OK I don't mind publishing everything I have converted, and everything I will convert.
I won't publish anything CMF&R. This I will probably leave to you guys. Unless given a thumbs up.

    THE TRADITIONAL WAY:
    1. Visit Hexed.it (A website)

    2. Click   "Open file" on the top.

    3. Navigate to your CM maps in the window that opens up. (Typically CM will install the program in Program files (x86) -> Battlefront -> Combat Mission-> CMBS. Maps are typically installed to (Documents -> Battlefront -> Combat Mission -> CMBS -> Game Files)

    4. Select the map you wish to convert and open in Hex editor.

    5. There is one byte (One of the boxes with 00 in it) that needs to be changed. Each game has a different number to symbolize what game the map belongs to. "0A" is for CMBS. 0C is CMFB. 04 is CMBN. 06 is CMFI. 12 is CMCW. 00 is CMSF2. We are transferring this CMBS file to CMCW. So replace the 0A by typing 12.

    6. Click export at the top after changing the number. The file is now a CMCW file with the change of the single byte "0A" to "12".

    7. The file should export to your downloads folder (Check to see where the file actually goes.. you can double check by clicking export again.. as it will ask you where to place the file.. then you can see where it goes.).
Move the file from your downloads to the appropriate folder.
For instance: We converted a CMBS QB map. So it will be placed in the appropriate CMCW QB map folder.

EXTRA: You can add subfolders to the QB maps folder for particular titles, for organization purposes. You can explore these subfolders in the editor, so it's cool. They organize your folder so it looks pretty. Just remember to save the file (When you have it open in the editor) and place it out of the subfolder, so when you click Battle or Quick Battle on the main game screen, the maps will actually show. Of course you can always find them in the editor just fine. But the main game won't pick up the files unless they are directly in Documents -> CMCW -> QB maps.
They won't show if you have them in a subfolder such as Documents -> CMCW -> QB maps -> Conversions

THE NEW WAY: FOR STUBBORN FILES
    THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THIS:

    ALSO:
Check out this thread I made a while back for converting maps. This was the original thread.
