  1. Gas....GAS I was reading this thread after eating some really spiced up Mexican and the girlfriend walked into the study, well let me just say she isnt a fan of GAS !! Cheers Stephen
  2. I would think there will be all sorts of terrain, both hills, swamps, grain fields all the way to rocky broken countryside. The game editor is a friendly device that the scenario builders can make almost any countryside spring to life. If you ask someone may even make a map. Cheers Stephen
  3. ROFL. That was pure gold, I was laughing so much I nearly had to pee sitting on my chair. Lucky for me it wasnt that long a piece of footage. P.S. Its so much of a laugh when it happens to someone else. P.S.S Ive watched it 4 more times and still it makes me laugh. Cheers Stephen
  4. Its easier to do the first scenario's like this or to take someones scenario and mod it with the scenario editor. Just remember to put some ground contours in otherwise crossing the open area's will be murder. I suggest having a look at other peoples work in the editor to pick up on some of the tricks of map making and making it look life like. I did a conversion when I first started and found the maps rather empty and not very life like but the unit conversions didnt work to well for me. Cheers Stephen
  5. Making maps that almost look like the real countryside is always a challenge for anyone trying their hand at map design. A simple solution I found was to simply do my best and if some roads arnt exact due to the limitations of the scenario builder so be it. I'm sure most people wont get to upset that a road is slightly out of place while they are locked in combat. Cheers Stephen
  6. Well any improvments are great and lets face it Battlefront have been making graphic and game play improvments with every release. They are a small team compared to alot of others and they are giving us a fantastic game which only gets better every release. How many other game companies upgrade past releases, not many I would say. Cheers Stephen
  7. CMFI is alot more even equipment wise than most of the others and Italy makes for hard fought battles. As for RT, its going to have a great appeal simply for the reason its the eastern front and you have those large map areas to skulk around in. I'm looking forward to all of Battlefronts releases, if they come out every couple of months I will be more than happy. Roll on Red Thunder
  8. We can only hope that we will hear or see something soon ;-)
  9. I had a simular problem which was caused by a joy stick plugged into a port with a different game, so you might want to unplug one if you have it plugged in. Cheers Stephen
  10. I'm really looking forward to making large maps and the potential for Battalion plus battles. I already do Battalion size maps and battles so more space the better. It looks like the Russian forces are not really pinning down the German forces as yet, a minor fire fight here and there will just get the German forces warmed up. Then again we could see the Russian Bear tearing apart the German Eagle. Roll on Red Thunder.
  11. AT bunkers should arrive one day I would think. As I see it now the game has been improving with every module etc etc, so one day we may see things we have always wanted. eg Flamethrowers. Anyone for toast ? Oh look its a flamethrower warming my heart in Russia ;-)
  12. Play testing is the key to a good scenario. I start with an idea and then develope the scenario over a week or so. It takes a fair amount of tweaking until I put it into the testing stage, sometimes idea's dont convert into a good/fun scenario. What one player thinks is a fun scenario may not be to everyones taste and thats why a good variety is the key to a happy ( we hope ) community of players.
  13. Wahhhh Waaaahhhhh ( sob ) waaahhhhh (sob ). Burp ! All better now ;-)
  14. Oh Crap ! Does this mean the photo of me naked on a beach in Bali is going viral in the security sector of national defence......damn it.....photo shop....Im going to have to photp shop all my pics...hmmmm.... shave 35kg from the tummy... remove all the body fur.... buggar ! Add 7 inches..... are you sure they are looking in my dropbox ? Someone is always watching, its life as we know it. Cheers
  15. I was thinking of making a set of independent battles based on the real battles, I dont think a campaign would work because of the carnage and other factors. Someone might be able to but I prefere independent battles as I said. Cheers Stephen
  16. wow, great timing. I was about a week off from starting to make a map of the same area...Mamma Mia you saved me the time and effort. Your a legend. cheers Stephen
  17. Well we can only wait and see and if the BFC team have been able to put it in for MG then I for one would be happy. Really I would be happy even if ammo dumps arnt in if they managed to squeeze in Flamethrowers or even bunkers with AT guns in them...or....and...oooo. The list just goes on. I'm not complaining at all and lets face it the engine and game are getting alittle better as the months go past....faster and faster as we get older....faster...older...yikes
  18. Hell, that sounds like my love has just got home from the Booza ! Honey I'm Home !!
  19. My guess.....6 weeks for MG Bagration for December Ukraine by April next year fingers crossed
  20. Ive asked Steve if we will get a supply dump for larger battles awhile ago in another thread and he agreed it was something he would like to see as well, so draw your own conclusions. My suggestion was two trucks parked near each other with a tarp between them with some ammo boxes visible. When building a scenario you just stock it up with whats required. Also it doesnt move, ammo dumps didnt pack up in a hurry. cheers Stephen
  21. Yay, today is the 70th anniversary of operation "Husky", the invasion of Sicily. Time to storm the beaches lads !!
  22. Pull your helmet over your eyes and take half a step forward. Stamp one foot in a 180 degree arc infront of you while keeping a finger in each ear. If there isnt a load boom continue. Recon made easy ;-) if you need a tip on advanced recon just yell. Cheers
  23. NUTS ! Fuel was a major problem. The German pool of manpower was pretty much used up by this point, they still had some good troops but alot of what was left by this point were either war weary or the training had become poor. The German divisions by this point in the war were in a very poor condition in general, but there were still some good units with quality leadership. Alot of the troops that were used lacked training and experience. If you were bombed and straffed almost daily you wouldnt be all that keen either. But still it was a huge effort and once the offensive had failed the forces were just getting ground down day after day. What if the Germans had used the forces they had for the Bulge against the Russians, an interesting what if ? Cheers Stephen
