  2. Hear hear! They've made it so you can't see the exact formation and type of enemy units by clicking on them, so why not this too? I'd also like the floating icons not to show if a unit is an ammo bearer etc. Or is that a difficulty setting? I usually play on Warrior.
  3. Also for me the shaders were turned off by default for some reason, so try that. Alt+R to turn it on/off.
  4. Thanks for the patch! I too am curious about this surprise that Steve mentioned though. Was it delayed or is it included, and if so which is it?
  5. A rounded force mix can be effective against tank spam (like in the 20k point battle of ian.leslie), but it of course depends heavily on the map. Best solution is probably for both players to tell their opponent beforehand if they want to take a tank heavy force so they can respond in kind. IRL they'd usually have a general idea of what they were facing beforehand due to scouting.

  11. Didn't the jagdpanther have very good traversable optics for the commander though? Which would make being buttoned up much less of a factor. I'll let someone slightly more groggy than myself answer this question, but I was under the impression that it did.

  13. I'm quite offended (no, not really ) by your suggestion that T-34's, Pz-IV's and StuG III's would qualify as crap tanks. I'm talking about things like T-26's, Pz-II's, T-60's, Pz-38(t)'s and BT7's! You know, pure crap! I love it!
  14. Crap tanks need love too! Personally I find duels between old, crappy tanks much more interesting than between modern (as far as WW2 goes) ones, but that's just me.
  15. Makes sense. Like I said, I wasn't complaining. Just curious is all. I'm already drooling at the thought of a new eastern front CM no matter the timeframe.
  16. Why move backwards in time with the eastern front game? Wouldn't it make more sense to start with operation barbarossa and move forward from there? Not really complaining, I'd just like to know the reasoning behind such a decision.
  17. Thanks a lot for your in depth answer. I was expecting the work around to be pretty complicated which indeed it is, but it's a lot better than doing it completely from scratch. An import function is next on my list of wanted features.
  18. I have 2 maps I've made that I want to merge together to create a larger map. Is this possible? Or perhaps a work around that makes it easier to do than redoing every map except 1 manually and adding them to the first?

I do NOT want to automatically know if an enemy team is an FO or anything of the sort just by catching a glimpse of some guy in a window 200 meters away, but when I last tried elite I could still find that out by clicking on the icon, it just wouldn't show up on the icon itself. Thus same amount of "realism", just more mouse clicking. Did they change this in a patch somewhere along the road?
  21. This. If I couldn't easily find out if that squad over there is a forward observer or whatever just by clicking on them I'd play elite, but as it is there's no real reason to go higher imho. Unless you really like mouse clicking.
  22. I probably would have given my first born child to Battlefront for the target armor arc and moveable waypoints alone, so 10$ is a steal.
  23. Discovered a problem with the vehicle ford to the north not actually letting vehicles pass. Will fix it and re-upload. Do the vehicle fords really need to be two squares wide in order to work?
  24. That's true, I'll just release it as is in the QB form. If anyone wants to use it to create a scenario as well they're free to do just that.
