  1. Couple of observations; 1. From a contextual view; a. Amateur Insurgents in Iraq would often use HE instead of AP / HEAT rockets when engaging Armour with RPGs simply because they didn't know any better. I also heard this was because they simply thought the bigger bang from HE did more damage to armour... b. Chechen RPG teams (ex Sovient trained) would typically immobilize Russian Armour first and only then look to finish of the vehicle (I think this is poorly modeled in the game - AT teams always seem to go for kill shots straight off from what Ive seen...) c. Insurgents evolved to using IEDs as these where more effective and less risk in terms of engaging Armour. 2. From a game point of view, Ive played a number of CMSF2 games now, largely uncons vs western conventional and find; a. RPG 7s can only effectively destroy un-upgraded IFVs or IFVs with no reactive Armour. Even vehicles with Bar / Slats?? armour get lucky depending on the direction the rocket is coming in from. b. RPG7s have no effect on any of the MBTs that I have seen - except sometimes mainly to maybe tracks. c. The RPG29s are lethal to any IFV and quite lethal against even MBTs especially if a non frontal hit. c. The older ATGMs are effective against IFVs but not modern MBTs and the newer ATGMs (AT14) effective against MBTs - but not necessarily reliable single hit kills. d. The odds of ATGMs hitting their target comes down to a lot of variables - open fields of fire, enough open space for the complete flight path of the ATGM, range to target (the shorter the more reliable), if the target is hull down I find a big reduction in hit chance, any trees in the flight path have a good chance of prematurely detonating the ATGM. Throw in lady luck and the interaction of all of the above and I find you have a real mix of results - and of course both players will impact all of these variables.... If you want to have a game I have an awesome UNCONs vs Conventional Map - lets go for a large Conventional attack, Ill start as the conventionals and you can try and blow my tin cans to pieces - how about I go as brits or marines???? I like the mirror game of this as well so then happy to have at it with that after!!!! Cheers Gaz
  2. Did some more testing - and realised I cannot consistently replicate the results. From what Im seeing; - Potentially not weapon system specific - Im guessing it has more to do with the squads suppression maybe instead - although cant really say for sure - I tried changing the map direction for the test map as well - but this does not seem to make a difference either - Morale and Troop quality may have an effect - but if it is Im guessing its more to do with suppression. What I did find suprising was that even Fanatical Troops will exhibit the behavior if the other "unknown" conditions exist.... strange - seems really hard to pin point whats going on....

Did some testing on this; - Issue seems to happen to German and allied troops - Is caused by troops up against a bocage hedge row being fired on by LMGs and HMGs - I tested on Fanatic and High Morale Troops and they all run to the enemy side after minimal fire (area targeted fire by enemy squads who cant see the hidden troops) - Rifle and SMG fire do not have this effect

  5. Im not sure yet of where Boris stands - I suspect he is acting in his own self interest and trying to preserve as much of the status quo as possible. It could be said his desire to see thru Brexit, is because he believes in severe consequences for the prosperity of his party and himself if he fails (or fails to be seen) delivering brexit. his latest actions I think may lead to concessions from the EU. How far he goes in sticking to his apparent path will be interesting to see. And yes I absolutely think that if the Brits can break totally from the EU then they will have to face up to their failings and at the same time hold their leaders accountable, who at the moment have an easy get out clause - "the EU made us do it". I suspect that's why so many British MPs are reluctant to fully leave the EU - despite a majority mandate from the public - they will actually have to start doing their jobs....and make hard decisions and be held accountable for them....imagine that....

Usually I dont really care what the Brits do - but bailing on the EU is one of the smartest things that Majority have done in a long time.   7. Ill stick with Brits - I lived their for 10yrs its a mutual understanding type of thing..... Ok cool, thanks for clarifying that - Id thought it had been fixed in the 4.02 patch but if its known its still an issue for cmbn then all good.
  8. Hello, I think this is related to a previous report - namely soldiers running to the wrong side of cover when engaged with Direct Fire. Ive seen it in two differant CMBN games. Both sides as the Brits (though I think it may be happening to my opponents as well - though not sure) I know previously their where issues with Mtr / Artillery fire but this seems to be with direct fire and bocage / hedgerows. If a gap is near by in the hedge row - if they receive a burst of MG fire their suppression seems to go up to full (seemingly on the first burst regardless if they take casualties) and then they start running to the enemy side of the hedge - where typically they are then cut down. Its totally crazy behavior that makes no sense at all. This is happening with the latest .02 patch as well. Cheers Gary
  9. I think according to fact they dont perpetuate mainstream media biases....therefore they must be biased by definition I came across South Front about 3 yrs ago. One thing I noticed, their maps of who owned what in Syria seemed to be 1-3months ahead of what I saw in the mainstream press.....

  11. Sorry - only just saw this - Id be keen - played Huge CMBS game against you so hopefully Im reliable Actually Ive been thinking extra points for field fortiifcations would be a good idea. If your worried about to many mines blocking of all AA, then just say 50% of def allocation is towards mines or 30% thus allowing a variety of field defenses Also if Allies are attacking less need potentially for mine restrictions - as in theory they should be bring sherman flails etc for armoured breaching....(Im assuming these are in CMFB???? ) Although I havent seen the map usually Id say give the attacker at least a 2:1 advantage - if its a real good def terrain then 3:1. Also good test - by a bn of infnatry for the defender, 2 for the attacker and **** loads of arty. Do a hot seat game - fire it up give say a 4 wp movment order for all forces on both sides and drop a bucket load of arty in the frist turn - if that doesnt break the game then all good to proceed....

In my experience it has always been the majority as opposed to "some" and certainly is not limited to the young / uneducated And Its certainly not specific to any specific religious, ethnic or any other grouping you might come up with..... You dont have to look far to see the same biases closer to home - for whoever and wherever that may be

  15. Whats your interest level on uncons vs convnetional type matchups (CMSF2)??? Im keen to get some more of these QB type games going and see how for they can be taken in terms of a competitive QB matchups.... However - I only do Huge and Large Games - not into anything smaller....
  16. How about take this the next step - suicide bombers - acting a bit like vbieds currently do......you could have breach teams or suicide bombers!!!!! I'm thinking it would likely be recycling similar existing code....
  17. I think this is the answer - its simply not enabled in QB maps.... This is certainly bourne out by the testing. Perhaps its an easy addition in any further patches / updates.....

Thats a shame - I had a cunning plan to make a ready to go - uncons vs con QB map that anybody could use to have uncon QBs with preserve objectives setup to encourage the conventional s not to just level everything!!!!! Perhaps a functionality to add to the QB maps in the future if BF get around to it - I also had a post with suggestions for uncons as well - I think it opens up a whole lot of options for player vs player QBs.....

Its can also be a random error sometimes as well - I think Ive tried putting dummy units in the QB map - ie I just purchase a platoon of supply tricks for each side - and then I think the obj you see can change - but still not correct. These truck dont show in a QB game as you then ovbiously get to make your own troop selection... The fact the editor seems to show exactly what you should in the deployment part - and this is not replicated when you start a QB game - tells me its likely a bug...
  20. Ok - so I know its not just my setup - and certaily seems to be a bug - what you see in the editor - which is working correctly is what you should see in the QB. I didnt create the whole map - it is what I like to call an ubanised enhancement to the stock map that comes with the Brits module - UK Armoured Assault.
  21. When you start your QB it has to be set as Medium - attack I believe then it should show.....
  22. What youve shown is what should be showing up. Im assuming you are looking at this in the deployment screen in the scenario editor???? If I use the deployment mode in the scenario editor this works for me as well. Its when you load it up into a QB it will not work. I usually test out my maps in a 2 player hotseat PBEM or just one player turn mode. Can you see if you get the same result in a QB????
  23. Thanks for the replys - understand what you are both saying - but Im sure Ive got it right and it seems to be a bug. Ive done a dummy QB map its here; https://www.dropbox.com/sh/b5x1pn1tt1wzyw7/AABN9VDYrmh9rh8G-JXSXqn0a?dl=0 Youll see when you go into the editor their are 6 objs for red, 6 for blue with a mix of occupy nd presrve types and mixed by who can see them. If you start a QB using the map you will see the correct objectives do not come thru (or they do not come thru for me anyway!!!!!) Ive also dropped in Huge Assault Map for Conventional vs Conventionals - Feel free to use and distribute as much a you can!!!!!! the reason for this post is that once I have these objectives issues sorted out for preserve and destroy I can then complete a dedicated uncons vs conv QB map as well. Now I Im guessing their will be no issues if you create a scenario out of this - but Im specifically wanting to create a QB map - not a scenario map and my specific aim is to have it as a working QB map. From what I can see the issue is a bug - unless Im missing something..... Cheers Gaz
  24. Hello, Just like to highlight a bug in the Scenario editor for CMSF2. Setting up terrain based preserve and destroy objectives seems to be very hit and miss; as in sometime they will appear in a map they are setup for and sometimes they will not. Ive done some playing around (including uninstalling SF2 and reinstalling, tried loads of combos on maps and cant see why this is the case. At the moment its unworkable because they simply do not show up in a completed map. Anybody had this issue or know of a work around? Cheers Gaz
