  1. I'm not knocking BF for the amount of campaigns they ship with each module. I'm not knocking the community for the great user created scenarios they release at great expenses in time to themselves. But as someone who loves campaigns I'd pay for extra campaign add-on packs. The main reason for this is that user made campaigns seem out of reach of community designers at the moment.

I appreciate those that make the mods and scenarios for CMx2. It's great.

But I too would pay for campaign add-on packs as nial78 suggested. I noticed that BF released a mission pack for the original Theatre of War. I wonder if they would consider the same for CMx2? Not a module per se, but just extra scenarios and campaigns.

  2. Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately that's not the one I'm looking for.

The one I'm looking for was released with EZ's German and US uniforms for CMBN back in 2012 and contained an extra "goaway casualty.bmp" file changed the red cross when a solder got hit to a grey skull and bones graphic. The one I'm talking about doesn't have anything to do with unit bases.

It's mentioned in this thread from 2012 and I remember seeing it in some CMx2 videos and screenshots including for CMRT: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showpost.php?p=1360080&postcount=10

But many thanks for trying to find it for me. I might have to live without it.

  3. That reminds me of a story from the American Civil War. I forget the details, but the defending commander (Southern, IIRC) was heavily outnumbered and waiting for the attacker to make his move. It looked like a no-win situation, but the defending commander had been an amateur theater enthusiast in civilian life and came up with an idea. He realized that the landscape and enemy's position allowed him to have his own troops leave the fort unseen, then double back to the main road to march into the fort, being observed by the enemy, as if they were fresh reinforcements.

That would be John B. Magruder at the Battle of Yorktown in 1862.

"During the Battle of Yorktown, Magruder completely deceived McClellan as to his strength by ostentatiously marching small numbers of troops past the same position multiple times, appearing to be a larger force. He moved his artillery around frequently and liberally used ammunition when Union troops were sighted, giving the impression of a large, aggressive defending force."

  4. i7-920 at 4 Ghz with a 660Ti and turning on Adaptive Vsync and setting the refresh rate to half really makes a big difference for me.

3D Model Quality at Improved or Better, 3D Texture Quality at Best, Tree Detail at High and with shadows and shaders on gives me 30 fps almost all of the time except for a few seconds when I quickly rotate the screen when it drops to 27, but then it quickly climbs to 30 again. Very smooth!
