  1. Thanks for the quick replys. It was the preview causing the problem for me also, once that was turned off it worked properly.
  2. Its not just the preview thats the problem, the comp set him to be the defender and put him in the attacker zone. I am having the same problem in a probe PBEM, but when I input the same parameters for a one player game it works fine, is this a bug? On another note, considering how robust and complex this game is it would be nice to see a few simple categories to help find information faster.
  3. Thanks for the benefit of the doubt... I think. Just giving Jaws an example of men following orders to die a certain death, which I believe helps to refute the general statement that "driving your jeep into the front lines of your enemy to see the disposition of his forces even though you know it means certain death for your jeep" is unrealistic in the sense that your men wouldnt obey your orders. Not historical maybe.... but that is a different point. Question, not to get you guys off topic but if you have a platoon of guys and the HQ gets knocked out, there goes your incentive to keep them together. Is it gamey to spread them out? or just not historical? I see two different subjects here, things related to history and things related to how we are given certain advantages by the game itself. only thing I can see as gamey is the god like vision of the battle field and which makes scouting a bit of an interesting subject.
  4. So telling someone to "go over the top" and run hopelessly into machinegun fire is any worse? I dont care for gamey players, but its a part of the game. And I just dont see this as a problem, Jeeps can be used for scouting, anything can be. If you are doing Kamikaze drives into your enemies front lines just to see what he has then you dont know what you are doing, and if you find out THAT much about your enemy then maybe he should be advancing or defending a little more spaced out and orderly. Like anything, take that perceived advantage and turn it against them, do anything! thats what the game is about
  5. In the instance you are describing its a gamey tactic. But whats the old saying, "all's fair in love and war." Sounds like a judgement call, which is hard to enforce unless you don't want jeeps scouting at all. My final thought, running men into their death has been the right of every commander since the dawn of history, you can't take that away now.
  6. That might be too small for something like a laptop, which many people play on. I prefer the way it is, though seeing a unit that is hidden or opened up without having to click on their respective tabs would be nice. I also play wego so I am just casually clicking about. Clock thing is a good idea too.
  7. Yes, for once the draw distance is so powerful its unrealistic in the rain and at night. I would love to see some sort of fade effect too.
  8. SMG's were largely officers weapons, that is the only connection I can see for them not being picked up.
  9. I built a model of your version Mord a long time ago. The open top and arty piece make it pretty cool.
  10. For use noobs, which units are those JonS? MarderIII maybe? Little M8 Howitzer thingy?
  11. I am not sure about the Americans, but with the Germans you can buy a company of Grenadiers. If you just want a platoon, buy a company and delete 3 of the platoons. I like how the purchasing works, seems to try and be realistic with the forces you make.
  12. "Assign quick select groupings to number keys. Want platoon 1? Hit 1 and you have that group selected." Owwwhhh, I like that one.
  13. I could have sworn I saw a 60 in scenario, but in the manual, only the two 30s are mentioned.
  14. What, theres a tips and tricks sections? never been out of the CMBN forum section, and why should I, this is the only game I have.
