  1. Yeah I got the sound working but doesn't sound very good. I think it needs to be a one shot sound, not multiple shots My stupid ass didn't read the AKD Sound mod instructions very good, I just unzipped everything in into my Z\data folder. I reread again and saw there is a base file and then certain mods to the base file. it now sounds really great but will still try to get on working with some custom sounds.
  2. Hi all, I found/made a new sound for the m240b, but I can't seem to get it to play. By the way while Rezexploding all the resources It makes you really appreciate all the work that was put into this game. Amazing! All the different sounds, animations, bmp.... But back to the question. I named it 'gun 7 m240b.wav' and let as WAV and put in the Data\Z\Z_Z\ folder, but doesn't seem to be getting picked up. I do see and read that some of the mappings of the guns are to like 'gun 7 modern.wav' I am all patched to 1.32 and had AKD 1.2 Sound mod, but still no dice. Anyone happen to know? Also I did see gun 7 m240b 0.wav and 1.wav... I guess it randomly selects a sound? There is no official mapping list, right? Lastly when you do make a MG sound, it seems the files I was looking at it's one shot. Is that best? The file i made is about 1 second, but obviously multiple shots. Is there a best practice on this? Thanks for your help, Paul
  3. I know the full replay is not possible or very difficult, but I think you could do and not that hard would be a simple replay. Not sure if anyone remembers Sid Meier's Gettysburg but at the end it had a replay. Very basic map(high bird's eye view) and red and blue arrow that should where everything moved, fought, was routed... I would think something along those lines could be done. The other thing which would be nice is when you click on a weapon in the unit panel a popup would come up with a larger image and a better description(like in the manual). Would be a nice tool and help me learn more about the different weapons without having to pop open the manual.
  4. Will be nice to have a conventional war in CMSF and not a war where you are forced to keep Blue's casualties low. From what I understood it's going to be modern forces, not 80s forces, but still all good.
  5. Hi all, Day dreaming about the upcoming CMSF Ukraine ,I decided to fire up the 'old' CMSF and play a campaign. Playing a couple missions and was doing pretty good in both, but as time was starting to wind down and I was getting ready to make my final push, the mission ends and I get a total victory. I assume the AI surrendered. Looking at the map afterward, it appears the Syrians still had a good sized force remaining. Also in the last one I was getting ready for the final assault. I wasn't really dealing out any punishment when it ended. So I was wondering what determines a Total victory. Is it based on Time at all? Difficulty level?, ratio of their men to yours? Anyone know exactly? Thanks
  6. Hi allm Have a few questions on how to do movements in EGO without it taking multiple terms. 1. Have team in vehicle. Want vehicle to move to location, then team to assault a building. Do I just pause the team first, then do an assault. Move the vehicle to the proper location. I have done this correctly in the past, but also screwed up where my guts assault from a few 100 meters back 2.Have vehicle, want to move it to point X and pick up a team there and then move to Y? So far I try and time it out. Have team pause for some seconds then have them enter vehicle(hope it has arrived there) 3.Don't think this one is possible. Have spotting team. Have them run up a building and then call in strike from up there? Selecting the endpoint to do the spotting from doesn't seem to work. I think I have more, but can't recall them at the moment. Thanks, Paul
  7. I think I have answered my question in another post. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=92138
  8. Thanks for everyones answers on this. I guess my more exact question would be how best to advance through wooded areas? So far I have come up with is: 'don't do it if necessary'. I try and keep my boys out of the trees because they don't have much of an advantage at close range and are getting smoked. Obviously if you are on the defensive this doesn't hold true and didn't seem to help too much(as confirmed above). But at some points on the map I do have to cross through some trees. I need to experiment more. I saw in one thread Erwin mentioned using hunt with lots of waypoints and pausing at each way point. I need to try that. I am trying with multiple teams, but it seems one gets fired upon and the others still don't see the enemy unit, and that doesn't help too much. Maybe have the teams set up more front/behind of each other instead of sidet side of each other? Anyone else have tips?
  9. Hi all, I have been playing a scenario with lots of bushes and hidden enemy infantry in the bushes(Die Festung if you wondering). I was using the Hunt command but would always be almost on top of the units and gunned down. I tested using Hunt + target arc and found they will spot the enemy some distance away with the target arc set and return file. I tried looking in the forums for an answer on this but was unable to. Does anyone know if the size of the target arc matters? Do you have a better chance at long range detection if you have a narrow arc field but a longer distance? Would a 360 Target Arc,(holding shift while setting target arc) 100 meter radius be less effective spotting than a 45 deg. target arc for 100 meters? I would imagine and hope this is the case, but was wondering what others have found or if there is an official BF confirmation of this. Is there a maximum that the unit can spot, assuming they have clear visibility? Is this tied to their weapon(sniper= longer visibility?) I know Target Arc is tied to where the unit would open fire as well, but am more interested in the spotting aspect. Thanks!
  10. Thanks Normal Dude! I loaded it up last night and have already started to replay it.
  11. Thanks for these links! I have downloaded them. If the author of 'Die Festung' could make that demo scenario could add it to the Repository that would be awesome and much appreciated. It's a fun one, even though I got my ass handed to me.
  12. Hi all, I just got my new rig up and running that I could finally play the new CM games. Tried them both CMSF and CMBN. I thought I wouldn't like CMSF but am loving it. I liked CMSF better than CMBN (but that's another thread. and purchased CMSF. I also bought all the modules as well. I was enjoying the demo scenario "Die Festung"(NATO scenario) and wanted to add it to the full game version list of scenarios. I thought I could just copy the .btt file into the scenarios folder(sorry am not at my home computer at the moment, I forget the actual name), but it never shows up. Does anyone know how to do this?Should this work? Is it a version issue? I am patched to the latest 1.32, and the demo I believe was the latest. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Paul
  13. I too emailed Direct2Drive but got a canned response. I am trying again. I would be willing to buy anyones guide who has it and is willing to sell? I guess the electronic version is copy protected or something? Not sure if it's transferable? Let me know.
