  1. la version alfa en castellano no funciona.Cambia el locale de tu PC a inglés, o usa la beta, o espera a que GaJ lo arregle.
  2. ******* SPOILERS: Last Defense Quick and Dirty AAR ******* I played it as german. Totally blind, just knew what the briefing told me. Two ht on the right (*), two ht on the left. Tanks waiting until I gathered some intel on enemy. Inf mostly advancing through the leftmost forest, with two squads on the right side of the map. Scouts always ahead. Preplanned, delayed art. on the big city (sorry don't remember names or objetive numbers) and on the small, leftmost, first objective. I received heavy mortar fire through the woods, and had to stop my advance for a while. Then, the two ht on the left and 1 MG provided suppresive fire enough to get to the 1st objective. I placed a MG covering my advance to the next obj. area just ahead, but didn't advance yet (in fact after some turns I advanced with a whole german squad, thinking I was using the LOS-target tool. They all got slaughtered). In the right I got to some clusters of trees just before the small hedges. I could see some american soldiers routing, and some coming back. My guns said "hello" to many of them. The ht were still far behind, I was afraid of AT or shermans. When I had a solid position, I advanced the tiger, one stug on the right, another stug throug the center road. The right wing hts didn't see much action. In the middle of the map, I deployed two MGs, and a forward observer that made a lot of damage with just a phone. Suddendly I saw some american tanks. M10. First one, then another, labelled with a "5", so I thought at least there would be five of them. Tiger couldn't get LOF or LOS to them without taking a lot of risk. Right-stug blow one as soon as he appeared. Then he got some of his own medicine, destroyed. The center stug hit another M10 but couldn't confirm it KO. For a while, wolverines stayed out of sight. I mortared the diagnonal line of houses parallel to the center road, and put the tiger and my surviving stug covering the bridge. Lost one ht on the right and another one on the left but took another objetive, and now only the big town was left in american hands. The right wing squads assaulted trough a gap in the hedge, near the cemetery. The left wing squads covered the right side of town. HT couldn't cross the low hedgerow but provided cover fire, and stopped several american squads (probably reinforcements) as well as some mortar teams that were approaching from the other side of the river. One of my tanks was on overwatch, while the other was area firing high levels where I suspected enemy presence (well, or maybe just for the show). One wolverine appeared on the hill. None of my tanks had LOF. I called for art. on the area, they didn't seem like moving. I was worried they could cross the river via a shallow ford and make things difficult for my inf. But artillery delay is very long, and I thought "who cares, it's a tiger vs. a M10, let's go finish him". The tiger crossed the bridge and I was shocked to see the wolverine coming fast towards me!! One shot. Boom! Poor lads. The clock was on 2 o 3 minutes left, don't remember exactly. My opponent surrendered. We both agreed he had no chance on winning. If I had known his forces beforehand, I would have crushed him, I played very cautiously. I keep the save files in case you or someone cares to watch the movies, just keep in mind were talking huge amount of data! As I see it, artillery, the tiger and a proper use of scouts are the key to winning. I think you have to misuse them to actively lose as german. But hey, what do I know, with no previous CM experience and less than 10 games of CMBN under my belt. oh, and I hope my english is understandable enough. (*) when I say left or right, is from german advancing pov.
  3. wow I have the exact oppositte pov on that. Don't know how the attacker could lose on that scenario! Edit: I'm talking about last defense
  4. 1.01 patch and H2H Helper the same day! Woohoo!
  5. Hi, do you have any recommendations on good, fun, even H2H scenarios? so far I've enjoyed a lot "Huzzar!", "closing the pocket" and "cats&dogs". Not so much "last defense" and definitely disliked "buying the farm" when played h2h - as it's actually intended to be played just against IA. I've been told "No exit" is another great h2h scen, any more suggestions?
  6. 100 % language independant, no need to speak spanish to follow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwKcYdIrL0U (yes, *dogs* chasing cats)
  7. I have a Hmg team running, the gunner gets shot and drops dead. While he's still falling to the ground, the MG sports magically in the hands of another soldier, who is some 15 m. ahead and hasn't stop running. No buddy aid involved, just some fancy magic trick, maybe? 1 player, turn based, warrior level. no save game but recorded the sequence in a small video in case someone wants/needs to check. Is this a bug, a feature, or plain just luck?
  8. Player 1 watches the video, then issue orders. He sends the save file. Player 2 watches the video, then issues orders, orders are processed but he still cannot see the result. Saves game and sends file to player 1. Repeat. That's what happens, if I'm getting it right.
  9. But those green arrows appeared when playing "buying the farm". No exit zones there, AFAIK. Not sure what they mean but they probably aren't for exiting units.
  10. I saw some panicking German units disappear with an arrow sign, like if they were exiting the map. But in "buying the farm" there's no exit for jerries, maybe they were routing?
  11. I've played it H2H, as german, and crushed the Amis who finally surrendered. The recon phase was a bloodbath, just a m5 and some panicked crews survived. Then 3 stugs and 1 panther took care of every American tank except for one who remained hidden. I lost one panther who got confused in a traffic jam (my fault) and 3-4 armored vehicles. Americans pushed hard in the middle, but I stopped them harder with 2 stugs and infantry. They probed with three shers in the east most ford, and 1 stug blowed 2 enemy tanks. The third decided not to push his luck and stood hidden forever. Americans arrived in the farm before I could, and I lost 1 panther. Another one destroyed 4 shermans and caused heavy infantry losses. But I knew there was an AT somewhere (later I knew there were two) and didn't want to expose my panther too much. I was planning to bring there my reserve forces (2 panthers and 1 stug. I needed the rest to overwatch some other fords) when the enemy surrendered. I couldn't have seized the farm, but no problem with the main bridge. The secret objective was a bit too obvious. Strangely I wasn't awarded the AZ3 though I definitely crossed it several times
  12. Excelent ideas. I don't care that much for tabs, I'm used to keyboard accelerators (though would be cool to know this team is too tired to go Fast...), but definitely I'd buy the clock+end turn and the big video buttons if sold as an separate expansion
  13. i played it as american, one of my first games. Didn't really knew what I was doing, and sent everything through the right side. The AT blowed one stuart, the IG damaged slightly other. I spent some turns area-firing the foxholes and the IG, while a platoon took care of the AT (with lots of casualties, shame on me). When I cleaned the right flank I called artillery over the farm. three stuarts and every soldier waited to assault, when the fireworks finished, they popped smoke and rushed towards the objetive. I won without really knowing, and what's worst, my opponent was bored from the beggining. There were very few choices for him to make, just wait and pray. Maybe "closing the pocket" has everything you ask for and can be very fun. It's not included in the game, though, you have to dl it from the repo
  14. Hi, anybody knows the effect of hiding a tank? I'd suspect the tank would stop the engine, or at least put it idle to minimize noise, and that would be it. But, does "hide" command also prevent it from firing? In "huzzar!" (btw, what a game!) I have this stug hiding behind some trees, aiming to the road. A sherman appears just in front of him, 120 m. away. It keeps coming towards me, 100 m., 80 m., 40 m.! Turn ends. Next turn I use "target" and the sherman gets an instant penetration. All the time the stug has a perfect los and line of fire, but some reason kept it from firing. And I suspect it was the hide order, just asking for confirmation. My enemy never saw the stug. Great camouflage skill! In case my bad english is too hard to understand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCcAg5py1VI
