  1. Womble...thank you so much for your words of wisdom and being so kind with your words. CM2 is so "pretty" and I guess I got caught up on the looks, but this is apparently not what I'm looking for. Thank you
  2. This is my concern.....that's why I'm thinking Hearts of Iron 4 might be what I'm looking for. With CM2 it would take years and years. CM2 seems like a "skirmish" game in the PC sense
  3. This is solo gaming, btw, so I guess I'd just have to be logical and fair about allocating units to various fronts.
  4. The ONLY reason I'm using Men at War 2 is it has units that CM2 does not....mainly 39-41 (early Italian, German, Russian) and CM2 has no Pacific theater.
  5. Hello fellow wargamers! So, I'm going to try and start a massive, potentially multi year long WW2 campaign via PC gaming (and some miniature gaming) 95% of this will be done via PC games. Mainly the Battlefront Combat Mission v2 series and Men at War Assault Squad 2 and now....possibly Hearts of Iron 4. Just found out that Hearts of Iron 4 WILL NOT keep track of losses at the end of battles, so this might exclude it. Land warfare is my primary concern, so aerial/naval engagements will be secondary. My reason for posting this is to get others who have done this or attempted to do this. What was your plan of attack? How did you play out your battles? Small engagements? Larger ones? How would you allocate resources? I'm breaking down production by months, so for instance…..May 42 Germany get's 100 Pz III F (hypothetical here)…..how would you allocate them?….20 for homeland defense….30 to North Africa and the other 50 to the Russian Front? Any comments welcome. Thanks for taking the time to read this and contribute in any way!
  6. Is it possible for the user to pick the units of both side and let the AI fight out the battles? or is it strictly AI vs human player? Thanks
  7. No worries at all! I do that on a daily basis
  8. Ahhh, then I'll do just that. Thanks!
  9. Haven't bought the game...yet. Just wondering if there was anything other than video tutorials about controls/interface, etc...
  10. Is there a link or pdf for the manual for this game? Anything other than videos describing movement/camera controls, interface explanations, etc...??
  11. Thank you to all. I will try all the above mentioned, minus the PBEM stuff (sorry, just not my cup of tea)
  12. That's what I thought. Thank you. This series of games has me totally geeking out on some WW2 solo gaming. I know it will take me a while to "learn" how to play but I can't wait!
  13. I don't own any of the CMx2 titles yet, but I was wondering do we have the option of creating our own single player games? Meaning, can we create a map or load a map and place ANY units on said map and "duke it out"? Danke!
