That’s a nice write-up, domfluff. Will you be sharing the final version?
Canuck21, in the situation you’re looking at, I don’t do anything but set the squads up in their houses with no set zone and no orders, like domfluff said. They’ll stay until shot up enough to displace away to presumably safer environs.

At the Luftwaffe Ministry, MG Platoon commander Hörter and the last rifleman from his HQ team hug the floor as enemy bullets slice through everything around them. They are frozen with fear and anticipate death any second. As the Soviets change magazines, the eyes of the two men open and find each other. In that moment, the gaze of each silently asks the other, "Do you want to die like a dog, or like a man?"  Suddenly, they find strength, rise and engage the enemy squad.

The Soviets, thinking they had won the firefight, are taken aback. Hörter cuts one down with his MP40. The remaining enemy soldiers lose their nerve and dive for cover. When Hörter and his comrade stop to reload, the Soviets exit the room and run down the stairs to the ground floor.

At that moment, the concrete HQ Stug rounds the corner and scans for targets. In a reversal of fortune, the Soviets are now the ones facing annihilation! But, like with Hörter, fear is replaced with courage and two Russians ignore the new threat to turn and re-engage Hörter's team.

    The Stug fires.

But the shot comes too late for Hörter. Like so many men, fate has decreed that he and his comrade are indeed to meet their end in the Fire and Rubble.

    (Last of series.)

Ok, well lets unpack this.  I, for one, do not think you are a troll (perhaps trying hard to impersonate one but...), you are a paying customer who appears uninformed and we aim to both educate and entertain.
So looking at the the ol' scenario list AND not counting the extra versions based on dates (more on this later) AND the US Campaign (1982) ones we are at 23 standalone scenarios.  Now one could say that the Soviet Training Scenarios do not count, which based on the number of YouTube videos is pretty unfair, but let's be brutal on ourselves (sorry Justin).  This would bring our paltry total down to 19 standalones.  Now BFC policy for a base game release is 15-20 with emphasis on the 20, if we can get to it.  So here we fell one scenario short of the upper end of content range.  Now in our defence CMCW requires large maps in order to really show things off, much larger than other titles, so that played a factor.
Now as to the "why the multiple years?" question.  Well we did that because CMCW covers off a 4 year period in which available equipment varies significantly year to year.  These differences create pretty interesting and noticeable variations in gameplay.  For example in 1979 you could see M48s vs T55s and in 1982 we have M1s vs T80Bs, the balances is very different between these dates.  So we thought, "hey there is a lot of kit here and maybe players don't really know the ins and outs of all of it.  We should create different time versions so they can easily see and learn how different equipment stacks up."
Now as to "rushing".  I am not sure what your scenario design and building experience is, or is not; however, it is no small task to create multiple versions of the same thing.   For example, the work that went into the 1982 vs 1979 US Campaigns was such that it probably would have been easier to simply do two completely separate campaigns.  The testing and play balancing is a long process, as is the deploying of units and AI.
Finally, as to the the "cheating" US Campaigns ported over as standalones, there are 10 in total.  Well the thinking here was that these should really be bonus content.  First, not everyone is going to finish the US Campaign, or play all its battles, so this gives the player a chance to play and try any of them up front.  Second, it allowed us to offer them for H2H play, which should be very interesting for some.  Again, as to "rushing", porting the campaign scenarios over into standalones actually took more time as Red side briefings and Human vs Human considerations had to be made.  The US Campaign alone has over 190 square kms of map work btw, again very big maps required all tied to the actual ground in the region (seriously, check it out on Google maps).
To this we add one NTC campaign, and two versions of both the Soviet and US campaigns, I would sincerely hope that the average player can squeeze out at least of 60+ hours of quality play time, before hitting the QBs or Scenario editor.
So there you have it.  As per content guidelines, based on past titles, we are safely in the upper end of content requirements by about any metric.  I will leave the qualitative judgement to all you fine grognards.

Well, good question, because this is the first time any of this unwanted behavior has been seen that I know of since they thought it had been fixed for the updates for each game. In fact there were Russian troops in the German campaign who ran toward German troops from a building in the first scenario and it was seen to be fixed. In fact, the general behavior across all the titles has changed to troops in good cover being very hard to dislodge.
So I'll report this with the saves and we'll see what happens. That includes troops changing levels. What is supposed to happen, and seems to, is that under heavy indirect fire they will go to a lower level, but shouldn't for small arms fire unless maybe they are poor troops and are panicked (these guys were panicked).

I have been into metal miniatures for almost 50 years, but the last couple of years, 3D printing has taken off! You can get stl files for anything military. I don’t have a printer and have enough unpainted lead that my gaming room could double as a fallout shelter, so I don’t bother with them, but a quick web search will generate a lot of sites. Quite a few from among wargames are are free, too.

So you're either just trolling, or you have no idea what this is trying to achieve, or what a typical scenario count is for a CM title. Either way, it's just noise.

Kraft, put a brz in the RezExplode “Input” folder and click “Execute”. RezExplode is in the Mod Tools  folder in your game’s main directory. Also more information in the manual. Cheers!

Because of the double whammy of F&R and CW in one month, when BFC finishes its planned BS and FB modules, I’d be perfectly happy if they took a 2 year break and built CMx3. YMMV.

Yep. Several times I've seen them say that they don't view the early war as a profitable enough subject matter.
It would almost be more accurate to say that BFC has promised not to make an early war module!

Worst. Day. Ever. for you to miss checking in! A one day only, one-in-a-million release; Sept. 1939 through August 1945. ALL theaters, including PTO, CBI and Finland! BFC figured they made enough yesterday that they decided to retire knowing we'd have enough CM goodies to last the rest of our lives. All of us here bought it, of course, but we were all commenting like "Where's Probus? Man is he gonna be pissed!"
    Sorry bro.

Patches install to the same folder as the game’s exe, chuck, so it normally would be where the Data folders are. You can download from BFC wherever you would prefer, but install is to the folder with the exe.

That doesn’t sound right JM. Do you mean un-Rezexploded brz files? Either way, something is goofy there because there shouldn’t be any type of brz files in the mod tools folder, unless you left them in there after rezexploding them at some earlier time.

As for the question...THERE'S HUGE diversity, unless of course you think all "white" people are the same. We have Americans, Canadians, British, Germans, Russians, Ukranian, New Zealanders, South Africans,  French, Poles, Dutch, Italians, (along with skins for black and brown citizens of those nations where viable) as well as Brazilian, Syrians, Indians, Sikhs, and plenty of portraits for Maori, Gurkha, Goumiers, Algerians, Japanese Americans, Druze, Assyrian, Palestinian, and Shi'ite. Hope that's enough "diversity" for you.
EDITED: CMBB and CMAK also had Finnish, Romanians, Hungarians, and Australians.

    Welcome!
Not really easy to do, LutzP.  You can Target Smoke, put a Pause Command for say 15 seconds or whatever, then put a short Movement order, like 1 Action Square or whatever, then on that Waypoint, use another Target Command. Play around with the Pause timing and number of Movement Orders to figure what works best for that vehicle to get X number of smoke shells. With on map mortars you can Target Light and they usually pump out 3 shells per minute.  (Unit soft factors will affect all this to some degree.)

I tend to agree with Aragorn here. Love a lot of his stuff, but wondering how this will turn out. I first read Sager's book 40 years ago and a couple more times since. Great read, but I also recall a lot of controversy as to whether it was fiction or nonfiction.
