Oh, sorry, my bad. I thought you had known about the CMA situation. Btw, I’d love to see BFC pursue obtaining the rights to it.

"Honey, would you mind making some more eggnog while I load up the Daraya Tank Raid AAR? Don't worry, that's the better one from CMSF2, the one with that awesome, nearly impossible RPG hit on a T-72AV. You know, the one that didn't have a TURMS-T fire control system.  I'll explain that system to everyone while the first turn is loading."

If you're playing WEGO, save every turn.  Never know when you'll want to show us, or just re-watch later.  I have hundreds of complete saved games on an external drive just for that purpose!

Congrats but the parameters are 25 % losses for the Brits or something like that? The Vietnam war was lost because of the parameters and no battle was lost. It is the dilemma of modern warfare. The Australian SAS is in trouble because of an alleged breach in rules of engagement. Already found guilty without a judge or jury. This is my rant for the day. I must give editing a go I understand it is to make a combination of battle plans. I like the game 'The Full Monty' found the key is don't engage without Arty, Choppers and later Fighter Bombers. One body bag is one too many I already have a few wounded. See the enemy, see the terrain, and see your troops. Easier said than done. Continue my rant. Afghanistan easy to beat special forces as the Taliban. Find a platoon and surrender to a Special Forces patrol. Their mission (Special Forces Patrol) is stuffed, by international law they must even defend them and share their rations. it is ridiculous glad I am seventy and only play the game.

I still don't see a problem with this because if you run the movement cursor over the terrain in question it will show you if it's passable or not. Sometimes you have to move it slowly, but I use that method constantly when moving armor or other vehicles over any questionable terrain.  I use it for checking for fords for both infantry and armor anytime there is a water obstacle of any sort.  A redline or whatever on the map will kill immersion immediately, and if you're thinking of a pop-up indicator of some sort, the Movement cursor already basically does that. Maybe I'm missing something here?

Depending on how far away you put your waypoint, that tank might just have figured it's easier to get to it by another route. That happens all the time with longer distances between WPs.  How is the game to know you want to go through, not around, that clump of trees, or around the left side of the house, not the right, unless you direct it more carefully to do so?  Short WPs in close terrain are your friends!  (Btw, could it have been low bocage?  Run the tank's Movement cursor over it to to check. Solves the second problem.)
As to your No. 1 complaint, can be a pain when done by mistake, but easy to double check before pushing the Big Red Button by double clicking a unit of each command (HQs are easiest to find so easiest to use).  I often double click an HQ to move longer distances, then while all units under that command are highlighted, click on a/the WP of one element and you can move just that one element's WP for better positioning.
Regarding #2, the game engine calculates the moves for a turn when you click the Big Red Button, so as it was developed, the engine simply can't show the paths your moving units will take. I supposed they could have a system where you do a pre-final BRB click to show you the pathing, but that would just be more annoying to have to essentially wait for each turn to calculate twice each time.

Do you mean "A War Without Mercy"? I think it's an original FB scenario. I have it in my scenarios and assume it has always been there.

mjkerner got a reaction from Warts 'n' all in Embarking limbo (or how long can you limbo?)
Vacillator, if your troops are spread way out from their icon, it means they got split off somehow. Troops used to do that a lot before BFC fixed the “soldier wandering off by himself” bug. No idea what version fixed that, but regardless, even after the fix, a soldier will still occasionally wander away. If that is the case with your current game, then they won’t embark until they re-unite. You probably need to set a new waypoint somewhere between the various split members to get them back together first.
In Howler’s case, I would bet the hedge is the problem...animation to jump the hedge may be interfering with the animation to embark, or some such thing. Anyway, move around the hedge to the same side as the HT first, then try embarking.

mjkerner reacted to Aragorn2002 in New Russian Eastern Front movie
Perhaps for a change a movie can be made by Russians about the tens of millions of innocent and defenceless people that died because of communism, Soviet occupation and Stalin's malice, the misery and cruelty in the unspeakable Gulag concentration camps, the blind terror of the NKVD, both in Russia and Eastern Europe that destroyed millions of lifes, the deportation of millions of Russians, Estonians, Latvians, Poles, Hungarians, Germans, Rumanians and many other nationalities, the murder by starvation upon millions of Ukrainians etc etc etc instead of glorifying a war for which the Russians themselves were for a large part responsible.

Seems like all tanks and TDS, etc., bounce way too much when firing. This was brought up eons ago when CMBN first came out. BFC may even have toned them down a bit...don’t recall for certain, but if they did adjust it, they didn’t go far enough, IMHO.

One of my all time favorite maps is the CMBS Demo map from Black Sea with its rolling hills and detailed village. It features in at least two of the scenarios in that game.
I have converted it to work in Red Thunder. This wasn't easy, I have tried a few times before and it would never load. This time I deleted all the buildings in CMBS and then manually replaced them all after getting it to load in CMRT. A few extra tweaks were needed but not much. Kudos to its original author. This is Map 260 from Black Sea, (basically the meeting engagement version of the CMBS Demo map). AI plans are rudimentary but functional.

I keep forgetting to ask, Crommy old chap, did the Governor ever pardon that nice young convict? Certainly all his work on CMx2 must count toward his “good time” earned.
