  1. This is by biggest concern after being disappointed it wasn't included in CMSF. Didn't stop me pre-ordering BS as soon as I saw it on the main page though!
  2. Okay, there's definitely something strange going on here. When I try and unistall the modules form the Desktop PC, the game launches, so I selct New Game and the license screen appears asking me to unlicense. When I try I get the error -31 message Help!!
  3. Hi guys I have a bit of a problem with one of my modules, which I hope somone can help with. I had to re-image my works laptop after an encryption issue, and uninstalled and unlicensed everything without a problem. After re-imaging I downloaded and installed the SCGC Gold and AoD modules. However, I am able to install the license for SCGC and Aod, but not SCGC Gold. I bought the SCGC Gold as a bundle, and so there is only one license code, which I thought I could use for both modules. When I try and license the Gold module I get the error -12 message, even though the other two modules installed over the internet connection, but I thought "no problem, I'll use the offline mode". But, when I do this, it tells me that I have no spare licenses left (even if I un-license the SCGC module, which uses the same code!). I also have the modules installed on my home desktop PC and thought maybe that was the problem, but when I try and unlicense those I get an error -31 (first stage of licensing could not complete), which I guess means they're already uninstalled (which I would have done before installing on the latop originally), so I'm sure I should have licenses left. If you can make any sense of what I've just written and can offer advice I'd really appreciate it. H
  4. I can understand why you've stuck with the series CSS, this is my current PC spec: Win 7 64bit i7920 clocked at 3.80GHz 12GB ram Gigabyte GTX 670 128 SSD 1TB HDD 3x Asus 24" monitors .....and I spend more time playing SC on my works laptop than anything else!
  5. Thanks Bill What I particularly liked about the article was the explanation of how the AI uses different offensive and defensive plans to win the game over historical accuracy. Looking forward to giving it a try.
  6. Howdy I have AoD, but not played it yet, and have a question regarding the World at War scenario? I seem to remember an article on the Wargamer website by Big Al where he talked about the AI used in the scenario. I see in a thread below that Brute Force is being updated for AoD and was wondering what the difference between the two scenarios is? I actually thought the AoD was a kind of official version of Big Al's mod?
  7. There's no new manual as such, but there's an Expansion Notes .pdf in the Docs folder in the program group, explaining the new stuff.
  8. Thanks for the reply, but I got it working by using our guest wireless network. It was very quick to register once I had a working connection. I had a quick look at the World at War scenario, that is one BIG assed map
  9. Hi, I've just downloaded AoD and I'm trying to activate it using the offline option (my works firewall blocks online activation). I've done it offline before with the other modules and e-license, but the new licensing system just gives me a 'Request code' and tells me to contact my vendor for further instructions. Please advise. HP
  10. I'm on leave all next week, and the weather's looks like it's going to be the usual UK rubbish. Whatever will I do to pass the time.....
  11. Sorry, computer. I wasn't sure what the original poster was referring to? EDIT- just re-read the original post, and he's talking about playing against humans. I'm at work and skimming over posts, ignore me.
  12. I'm at the end of 1944 in my first proper game of the 1939 World at War scenario, SCGC Gold v1.3. playing as the Allies. Germany surrendered in summer 1944, quickly followed by Italy, and I'm now currently shifting my huge allied navy over to the pacific to give the Japs a hiding (although, apart from western China and India, I've left them pretty much unmolested and have no idea what's waiting for me?). Germany never got anywhere near Moscow or Stalingrad, and the German navy never made it out into the Atlantic. China is hanging on for dear life after shifting it's capital to the north west. I don't want to say too much about what I did, as I would like to play against a human one day, but the Axis can certainly be beaten. In Europe anyway. I'm playing with soft builds on, and not sure that, that was the best option? But then what would I do with all those IC's? Edit - MPP's not IC's.
  13. Hi Guys I've only just completed the US Army campaign, and thought I'd share my results with you. Playing on real-time, Elite mode. US Army Major Victory 57 KIA 110 wounded 10 Armoured vehicles lost 1 other vehicle lost Syrian 1059 KIA 581 wounded 361 missing 42 tanks 21 armoured vehicles 57 other vehicles Most of my KIA's were in the Airport mission, I stupidly tried to assault the Special Forces HQ, and the last mission (a big urban map) with fighters popping up behind me in cleard buildings (very high civilian presence?). Interestingly, I don't think I secured any of the objectives, but just steadily pounded the ememy into submission. NOTE - there is one anomaly in the figures: I had a corrupt save game that loaded the next mission but after moving from the briefing screen to the map, immediately ended the scenario with a draw, with no losses on either side! (I have a saved game if the dev's are interested in picking it apart?) It's probably been ages since any of you played the Shock Force campaign, but I wandered how you compared? Marines up next! Hairy
  14. Ahhh, so its out in two month's then?
  15. If the era/sides speculation winds you up, well how about............when can we play it?
