  1. OK, thanks. It did the trick. Weird that I've never actually encountered that before - every mission/scenario I've ever played before this has just sort of ended naturally.
  2. I'm busy with mission 4, the recce of Os Sayqal and I can't seem to "trigger" the mission to actually end. According to the briefing, it's not neccesary to recce all potential OPs. I've done 6 of the 8 possible OPs, I've pretty much avoided enemy contact (one enemy forward observer did walk into my one team, and he got sorted).... what else is there for me to do? The timer has run down completely and is now moving up with red numbers, and the mission has not ended. I obviously have missed some trigger, or is there some specific task I've not yet accomplished?
  3. Sounds awesome. Been a very interesting thread this! I've struggled to effectively use recon type units for a long time, this thread has helped me come up with alternative ideas to try.
  4. I'm also struggling to figure out how to use CAAT platoons, and vehicles in general. I'm not entirely convinced that I'm using my sniper/scout teams properly either. Never really had a problem with stock CMSF, but the Marine module is far tougher! Generally, the Marine campaign missions are far better designed and far more challenging. Great stuff!
  5. I had my first CMSF dream last night, funnily enough. I was part of a Marine sniper unit trying to "recon" enemy AT positions prior to an attack against the Syrian airborne dudes.
  6. Aah OK, so this crew used all their ammo in the previous mission. OK, that makes sense....
  7. I'm busy with mission 3 of the Marine module, and I have a question. I know the briefing says that AT assets are thin on the ground, but what exactly is the point of starting the mission with an AT crew that has no ammo at all? Am I missing something: is there a spot where they can replenish ammo? Otherwise I'm totally dumbfounded by what exactly I can use this unit for. On an unrelated note : the Marine module is fantastic (this is for those who might have read my previous thread asking about it)!
  8. Although this might be hard for some of you to believe, I live in a country that has a "fixed cap" per month on internet usage - once you reach that cap (3 GB of data transfer), internet access is shutdown until either the next month begins, or you buy more bandwidth. In short, I'm going to have to download the Marine module.... I don't really want to download the demo as well. Deitrich, your comments have got my interest...
  9. I've been playing CMSF as much as humanly possible since I bought it 5 or so weeks ago, and I'm now giving some thought to buying the Marine module. I do have some questions about it though. Apart from the obvious (new unit, new equipment, new campaign), how does the Marine module differ from the stock game? Does it introduce anything new, tactically? Different mission types, or enemy types? Or is it essentially "more of the same"? I will almost definately be buying the Marine module no matter what the replies, because I've seriously enjoyed CMSF so far and like to "reward" developers who develop games I enjoy.... but I'm curious about how it differs.
  10. Aaah OK, thank you. tc237, I think your "definitions" are probably the correct ones, given the mission briefing.
  11. I'm busy with mission 6 of the TF campaign, and it involves doing a recon of an area prior to an attack. I notice that there are several objective points on the map with red lettering with terms I don't understand, for example: NIA C110 - DRT. I get that this means "named interest area number C110", but I don't understand the DRT bit. I've looked in the manual under Military glossary, but it didn't help. So... could someone please help me understand these terms (or just point me to a resource): DRT CSOP MRT Thank you!
  12. An update: oh my, I'm SO glad I found this game As a sad consequence of "real life" and being a working, married man I'm only just starting mission 6 of the TF campaign (Screen, part 2?) but I'm completely in love with this game. Awesome!
  13. Thank you! Very nice mod, adds a lot of atmosphere.
