Time as they say, is the only thing that is gonna fix this. I only see two outcomes: 1. It was all a giant global conspiracy to defame Russia. Putin goes down in history as mighty statesman, smiter of corruption, upholder of free speech, defender of the faith etc etc. 2. It was all true and Russia goes through a period of de-Putinisation. Putin not mentioned in Russia until he becomes ironically cool again.

'Saving Private Ryan' came out towards the end of high school, that led to Band of Brothers, the first CoD and Medal of Honor games... Brothers in Arms (that game was actually good). CoH, MoW. Just off the top of my head and all mainstream as you can get. Now we have WoT and War Thunder etc. I don't think we are in any danger of forgetting about D-Day..well.. just the day it happened, and how many Stalin tanks were destroyed by the Maus prototype.

We were born in the same year. I think 'Generation Kill' ('Soundtrack to War' is also interesting) described quite well how modern urban American kids can be effective warriors. Arguably the most effective in history if taken in full context. About the galvanising to go to war thing, I only meant that as noble an effort as Overlord was and is, it's safe to assume that most of its participants were reluctant at best. Lawn trespassing is particularly prevalent in America I've been told.

Yes a lot of it is done by proxies and tech, storming the beaches is soo 6th of June 1944. Being ignorant? As far as I know there isn't a universal criteria for what a kid should know... Also, quite a claim to make when they have the internet at their fingertips. I don't think it's a stretch to say that D-Day is quite an arbitrary day for even American kids to mark. Assuming that it's a great example of sacrifice for the greater good is to be expected on this forum, obviously, but I suspect a whole bunch of kids 'remembering' this day might not quite achieve the aims of respect and education we're aiming for My preferred role on D-Day: Luftwaffe pilot!

None taken, just thought it interesting how... ... these weapons become such emotive icons. I didn't want to derail the topic into this area, just thought that it relevant in discussion of the Armata. Because it seems particularly just about perceptions and patriotism than actual need/capability.

The IAF operated the reconnaissance version of the Mig-25, in a unit called the 'Trisonics'. One of the dads at school had flown/been a backseater in one during the early 80s, and was quite impressed by its performance. Also, the USA (and its hardware) was the 'enemy' for military and political backing of Pakistan, a country which was quite a security threat. Russia on the other hand was treaty bound to defend India from external aggression, and had done so to prevent the US turning the tide in the '71 war for example. So it's understandable how Indians from that era would wish to believe certain things about Russian military hardware, some of it was quite cool for the time, and which they were relying on for their defence.

Armata's primary deployment is in the information war, especially since the propaganda value of the T-xx tanks has been compromised Especially in non-western/NATO countries, Russia's prestige is all out of proportion to it's capabilities, and 'weapons' like the Armata are really effective in securing that.

You are looking at the version in the main menu? I have the 3.0 patch and mine says '1.20'. So I think that's not working as intended, but the game has clearly been upgraded to 3.0. Don't worry, everything is likely fine. You should buy the 3.0 patch and apply it to what you have.

I've just encountered the same issue. Not lost any tanks in the campaign yet have only two available at the start of mission five.

I'm excited to have Indian troops in the game. Though I suppose it will be a challenge to do it accurately with a mix of European and Indian leaders, and modelling the little differences between Sikhs, Gurkhas and all the other cultures which make up the Indian army. To my knowledge these will be some of the first pixel troops to represent the 2.5 million strong volunteer army who in turn represented almost limitless man power at the disposal of the commonwealth. It appears that it was used only grudgingly, for various reasons.
