  1. Thank you all, I am going to bed knowing a new thing
  2. In more than ten years playing with CM software there is only one thing which upsets me, I find the birds singing in the background noise really out of reality. Where I live, if a hunter shot a gun there is no more bird song for awhile... there is just silly that gun and bird songs are together !
  3. In regard of your agenda, point one is already meet. This company is a prosper one, in the sense of laying a brick after another, sure they are a small one, but on a small niche they're successful. Just compare the credits from Black Sea manual with any other of their games. Not beeing one of the smarter ones I will abandon this thread now, and let you fight your boredom against more fitting adversaries, but you should consider visiting Steam to enjoy their catalog.
  4. I have the impression that there is some steam marketing nerd pushing an agenda in this forum. When I discovered the first combat mission demo, back in the year 2000. I did work for a game publisher, and from the forty + staff, there was nobody except me who played the game. 14 years later BF still make outstanding pieces of software, and the company I did work for is long forgotten... Try to google Montecristo games.com and see how a company without soul and heavily funded exploded in mid air.
  5. 12012015 18:00 Because is the date and time of my birthday
  6. I like the idea of adding a pre-planed rolling barrage to the arty toolbox.
  7. Well, besides any piston motion, the linear barrage is less accurate than I thought... Some of my troops told me after I sent them to follow the line, they got some ordnance falling on top of them. I will try with multiple linear pre-planed barrages following each other with a 5 minute interval.
  8. Thank you Nidan, I'm going to test it... Ken, I am surprised to read your answer, for all play styles here yours is the most daring I have seen, almost suicidal
  9. I have observed that the rounds in a linear barrage fall from one side to another, that made me think that it could be useful in some way. Example: If the starting point of the linear fire mission is the one where the rounds start falling and the end point is inside the enemy lines, my forces could follow the line like as in a rolling barrage. Somebody had tried this before?
  10. My opponent spent at least three modules of cheap rockets as pre-planned fire mission on the forest where two teams of scouts where hiding... I was shocked at first, but only two soldiers were blessed. Later on he almost lost a T-34 to the survivors and at least three of his troops were down. Not only the barrage was not worth the points, but also gave him a false sense of confidence. His soldiers were running when mine opened fire...
  11. Hi John, that is good old news, Would you remember the title of the thread? I would like to search for it. I love to read heated discussions...
  12. Yes Michael, it could be that of course. Can a beta tester of RT run a test on this subject? or still better, BF release the game now, I will test it by myself...
  13. Come on, I know it is not a dream, one moment the soldier was there, and the next only a flameball, its ten years ago, but all we know how real this game is. Last week we all saw how a machinegun bullet sent a tank in the tank paradise, so...
  14. Waiting for Red Storm to arrive I was remembering the old days of Barbarossa to Berlin... In one of those epic battles one of my flamethrower teams explosed while running in the open. I think a stray bullet ignited the fuel tank! Somebody remember this happening ? I am 51 years old and my memory play me tricks sometimes.
  15. Looking back to the year 2000. I was working as beta tester for a french games developer, wich bankrupted some years later after they expend all the investors money they got without publishing any game worth playing... I found the demo of combat mission in the internet, and played the battle of "chance encounter" almost everyday for weeks on in the midday break, nobody else in the company did it and some of the devs who had a look at my screen just smiled and left without comment. Fourteen years later here I am, playing with the games battlefront creates and still having fun, I think I have buy all they titles and looking forward to buy the next... I never ever got so much in return of my money, and besides improved my english reading the posts of so many people wich contribute with their wisdom and sense of humour to this forum... And the "cerise sur le gateau" (cherry over the cake?) the former poster and personal enemy of mine Slapdragon is nowhere in sight since at least two years. He made me crazy, defending the war in Irak and boastin about the inherent supremacy of the USA, I think we went so far in our discussions that the policy about politics in the BF forum had to be implemented. To resume it, If you dont want your tank commander being killed button your tanks, and if you find a better game, plase let us know.
  16. I have tested one scenario with both sides entrenched, Somme style. Casualty rates amongst soldiers and leaders from both sides are similar. Next time I will test both sides in attack...
  17. I can live with the losses of my squad leaders in the game, what I don't like is that the losses of enemy squad leaders are far lower that mine, you can see this playing with the lower level of difficulty on against the AI. Then you click on a enemy unit and all his stats are visible to you, I have not write down the exact rate of casualties, but almost never the squad leaders are the first ones getting the lead. Did somebody else get the same impression?
  18. Yes Kenzie, I play mostly in real time, even if my rig is gasping for air some times, I just love it, watching the action like a war film. But this time it's a WEGO, I need to win this one...
  19. Thank you for your advice GJR and Kenzie, but reading your post I have the feeling of reading the AAR of another battle . In my game the AI is on steroids, multiple lines of advancement, rolling arty barrages, the M10 getting kills from very long distance, and even my AT gun concealed between hedgerow and houses, with a very narrow LOF getting nailed every time, I will try again in WEGO, even my wife ask me: is it the same battle again dear?
  20. Thank you Vencini, the recovery of the Tiger is not the problem, I get it every time... It is after I got it when my tactics fail. I will check the links and let know you the issue...
  21. This is the third battle of the Kampfgruppe Engel Campaign. Spoiler Alert! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// First of all I want to thank Mr. Nelson for this awesome campaign, I came back to it after some play with Market Garden module, in order to check the new game engine improvements. The first two battles went like a breeze, just lost some troops and a Lynx, much better than my previous try. I told myself that the odds for at least a tactical victory were in my side, plenty of troops and enough tanks and AFV to make pay with blood every piece of real state to the enemy. Well, things went wrong every time I played it... I devised a plan to get back the Tiger that worked fine, laying a linear barrage in front of the Tiger position, and a circular one behind effectively suppressing the scattered enemy screen. The Pioneers launch an frontal attack to the enemy positions and a convoy formed by the Lynx, a Panzer, and an armored transport with the Tiger crew on it dart towards the Tiger position, in order to seize it. It works, and the Tiger its mine again. The enemy screen around the Tiger surrender to my combined attack and the Pioneers blow some bocage to let the tanks return safely to the main line of resistance without risking the dirt route again. After that the sh@t blows the fan, everytime. I have tried most tactics I know to delay the enemy, but nothing works, the arty barrages from the enemy fall in force anywhere my platoons are spotted, and even falling back after every skirmish didn't work... I would like some advice to win this one. Thank you in advance.
  22. HI Guderian Michel advice follows: Allow 1 Giga memory to the preperences of the virtual machine when the machine is shut down. Allow as much as possible memory for the pc video card. Good luck. Today I did a LAN battle against the quad processor pc of Michel it works too but in mi side the strain was too much for my card and not enjoyable.
