  1. In addition to the ping effect, possible to consider these mg sounds @5:33??
  2. Yep it'd be pretty difficult for AI to anticipate the situation and reload accordingly. I was thinking more in the way of adding an option like 'deploy' so that player can decide when to reload.
  3. Not sure how other players feel about it, but I've come across more than a few situations where I wished that assault team or mg team to reload before entering a hot area. This is frustrating when I know that the weapon's got only a couple rounds left before having to reload and there's not much I can do before sending them forward, only to find them make contact with enemy and start reloading just then. Now, I could just target area and force them to reload, but sometimes that's not the best way to go about it. So, if not for the first CMSF, I wish it could be looked into for the next in series.
  4. I'm using my own mod for weapon fire sounds. I'd be happy to upload if you guys wanna to give it a shot
  5. I'm surprised there isn't as much buzz about the standalone patches as I think it deserves. Perhaps most people already got the British module and it's old news?? Still, I am really impressed by the amount of improvemnets and additions. Particularly, I like the fact that now m82 snipers can take more ammo, though I think they are really there for the heavy machine gunners. As this is still early after the release of patches, I am just discovering new features. So, thank you BF! ps. any plans to reflect correct model for the m240g for the marines?
  6. Speaking of different types of buildings, when CM2 starts introducing wooden buildings, espcially for the Normandy, I can just imagine how little cover wooden shacks would have against M2 rounds. This was a bit disappointing how close combat handled damage against buildings.
  7. m16 and m249 may have similar characteristics in ballistics, but I thought m249 had much longer effective range, which I would think mean more energy, no?
  8. This video gives some interesting comparisons. Some surprising, mostly expected results. The test dummy sure is having a rough day..
  9. strong sales for tactical simulation in this day and age? that's gotta mean something
  10. That seems to explain something I've noticed when assaulting a building. Often when I've issued Quick command to assault a building that has well suppressed enemies, the soldiers would go in and start throwing grenades. What I found confusing was that the assaulting units would get suppressed even though the enemy is not shooting back and getting fraged. Is this because they are being suppressed by their own grenade explosions??
  11. The new texture looks awsome! looking forward to incorporating it in urban scenarios.
  12. yeah I was also curious what these would be like. this is definately a pleasant surprise!
  13. Yes, speaking of the British rifles, L85 LSW sounds interesting. It's not quite a SAW but not a regular AR hmm.. also I was surprised that the barrel on L85 is longer than that of m16
  14. Looking at the composition and equipments for the British infantry, I got an impression that it is more about maximizing efficiency rather than using overwhelming man/firepower as in the Marines squads. Should this be the general approach for the British infantry?
  15. I can see some really interesting possibilities with such ability, such as making a special ops team that more closely resembles real ones. But it could also change the original design of the game, conventional warfare.
