  1. I made a weapon mod some time ago. Saly it got erased when I reformated. It got the game better for me as the values were drawn from various sources. One thing is it apears they made the values for 0º and the mod I made was made on AP tables wich were tested on 30º. Cheers...
  2. Well, after a long absence I continue to feel cheated by Kalypso. I figured if I waited a couple of months, the new patch should be out for the german version... I guess not. Cheers...
  3. Sorry sneaksie, but how is the russian data from actual battle if their tanks fared worse in battle than in tests (both due to their low test standards as their low quality ammunition)? Also, the data I have is not purelly theoretical. It's base on tests made by the people who built those things. The British and German standards were very high and the tests quite accurate. Cheers...
  4. @ Narses: What you say is right. but this game engine already adds armor slope into damage mechanics. Also, all tests (xept from some russian) were made using 30º. In this game Battlefront seem to have added the ap values for the Russian tanks at 0º wich gives the Russian weapons far better performance than that they really had. Cheers...

  7. I still feel the RTW campaign stile is the best. In ancient eras it works near perfection espetially with some very, very good mods there are (europa barbarorum for instance). It gives you a scope of commanding your armies from affar and the logistical problems for instance - this is more in the mod mind you - when you send a major conquering army against other civ and you made the mistake of advancing too far then, tough you win locally, the AI wins due to the fact that your forces get wasted and you have no chance of recovering yours. So, when you make an offensive war it'll take a lot of your resources both in money as manpower (you can actually loose a war because you simply don't have the manpower to ustain the war). And it gives you a lot of liberty to build your armies and conduct your own war. As for building churning out units, again, the EB mod has made it somewhat realistic for old ages. Of course it has to be different for a WWII game. The resource sistem more like Hearts of Iron or something but still, I said like not just as. I want something that gives you the same strategic insight (CC2 is very good indeed. But just locally. I feel you never get the full scope of it as you don't build your forces.). Anyway, just my long 2cts. Cheers...

  13. For ATI users, if you're getting this problem, do not install the latest omega drivers! You have to dl the earlier versions. Cheers...
  14. Not even a direct hit by the HE shell would be enough to disable a panther... Unless it was on the top armor in wich case it's possible. Cheers...

  16. Red Orchestra is real where it counts:p IT's frustating to see the shells of an IS-2 bounce on a panther frontal armor only to be shreded to pieces afterwards... Still, I agree the tanks should have more crews. Cheers...
  17. The MG 34 at least was dead acurate. You could tke out anything up to 700m without a scope. the MG-42 while less acurate, in a tripod mount it should be accurate enough. Plus, the sheer ammount of rounds it delivered was enough to make up loss accuracy. You can alter the grouping on the weapon data. If you lower the number, it'll become more accurate. Cheers...

  21. Hey. Yahnks for all the replies I made some changes already and it's great I just have to check if I for bugs and finish the French and Poles... I can upload the files if anyone is interested. Playing as the allies is tough late in game I warn you. And the German early campaign in Russia is tiresome (those T-34 just won't die!)I had to repeat 2 or 3 times before I managed to pull it of. And I lost a lot of veteran crewmwmbers who gave their bravest effort shooting T-34s and when their tanks got destroied they jumped to the PAK 38/39 and kept shooting till they died. In the end, I got only one tank (reinforcement Pzkw III) one gun (reinforcement Pak 38/39) 2 half squads (veterans since day 1) and a full squad (kept it in the back as a reserve just in case). This was mission 3 btw...
  22. It depends on the tank Tiger one veteran crews managed to destroy a IS-2 tank at 4600m. Also, the first Panther the russians encountered started to go at them at 3000m. It was all in the optics. Matching this, you had the IS tank in wich was all but all but impossible to score a hit at ranges greater than 700m. And even when it hit it wasn't sure his weapon would do the job (IS-2 rounds had the tendency to be innefective against sloped armor). Still that was not the job the Russians wanted them to do... Cheers...
  23. Like I stated in my post in the modding forum, a lot. This game has great armor values really realistic but the guns leave much to be desired. The American 76mm is overpowered as the russian 85mm the German guns are almost all underpowered or with erronious values (take the panther which does too much damage at close range and has less 20mm of armor penetration at 2 clicks. The 122mm is way of the mark. So is the 88mm L71. The German 88mm L56 is overpowered as well... Cheers...
  24. One question, have you changed to armor penetration values of the projectiles? did you made them more historically correct? Cheers...
  25. Thkx for the info but, this is not what I'm looking for. I want to change the weapons Armor piercing properties to a more historical level. For instance, the Panther historically could pierce 89mm of armor at 2000meters. In the game it can only go trough 64mm also, at 500meters, it could only pierce 138mm wilst in the game he can wade trough 148 if I'm not mistaken. Cheers...
