Observation CM:SF patch v 1.10 + CM:SF Marines, RT play – cannot provide any save I am finalizing my red vs red campaign and for this reason I am playing with original forces, so I cannot tell that if that what I am describing below happens with module forces also • I realized that picking weapons from dead or wounded soldiers don’t work now! RPG man was shot and other members give him first aid and didn’t pick up his weapon, they just collect ammo. Same happen also when I moved there another unit. I tested this with insurgents also and same happen there. Also sniper rifle nobody pick up anymore. Is it because only specialist can use it? • The difference between first aid time and just collecting ammo is small, collecting ammo from dead soldiers is too long – personal opinion • There are still problems with vehicles occupying same place • I parked my BTR near small wall and give command to disembark behind the wall. Soldiers did it, but commander was stick in this process and has been crossing the wall until the end of game from one side to another. I could give to the unit only one order; they refused to move to second one. I send them back to original place, but commander has “crossing obstacles day” and refused to do anything else I usually use some vehicles with some units together, it is working fine, and I like how they cooperate. Now in editor we are painting the zone with yellow color where the group has to move - works fine, but for better result some precision in it will be needed. We have two houses, every on other side of the road. We paint the houses and the road between – units enter mostly the houses and vehicle stays on the road, but sometimes also some unit stays on the road. Could it be possible to have for example possibility to paint with dark yellow place where only vehicles can go and with brown places where only infantry can go? Usual yellow will mean both can go there. It will help for exact placing of vehicles without unit especially now, when there is this secondary explosion effect, which can ruin quite lot of nearby soldiers. Thanks for good game and lot of new improvements.
  2. Maybe i miss it but battlefront has mentioned something like CMSF 2? I think the problem is that battlefornt team is smaller than the ideas they have. I think you build quite loyal customers, but i really dont like your way of communication with us Anyway i stay loyal

  6. If you check the blogfront you will find explanation, that the huricane Ike is responsible for this delay So since now, we need to check the weather forecast before every future release of any game from Battlefront
  7. There is the marine module out there somewhere... some day... Anyway because of lack of any info i would like to know what will be simulated within T 90SA tank? The indian T-90S has no Shtora. The Algerian T-90SA has 'reduced' Shtora without IR lamp. Also there are some differences in FCS and air-conditioning capability between T-90A and the export variants, but air-conditioning is not in scope for CMSF. Differences in armoring are classified. We haven't seen any pictures except one picture in your blog in the beginning of the year... Can you give us more info? Today i have seen that you add RPG-16 and Unarmored Truck... so the list is growing... will be the truck available also for Syrian side? Thanx for any official info

When i am playing multiplayer (1.08) with my friend we realized, that on computer which join the game immediately after start of the game (not during setup phase) all the armor is hidden for player (red or blue forces)... Vehicles fire and player on host computer can see them, but i (playing on join comp) don't see them at all... Only use is to give them during setup movement order... And immediately after start i am trying to stop all my vehicles nice with small scenario, horror with lot of units and big map... By the way reinforcement are totally hidden for opponent! I can see them and use, but he cannot see... so my BMP's can drive in enemy position and play GOD! I tried this shadow order on and off, no help... Both comp ATI cards... Any idea?
  11. is not known to us yet, but i am sure it will be 27.July! Battlefront like to use symbolics, so why not the same release date like for Shock Force? If it will be before we all will be happy, if it will be after you know already the sentence: due some late fixes needed it will come out soon, probably on Monday Any opinion? Maybe official?
  12. I was waiting for this special news about the Marines Module quite long like everybody... I can only say, that this news are saying a lot and almost nothing at the same time... I really don't understand the way how you Battlefront are informing us... Only think which is (maybe) sure is the price. The rest was alreday discussed here a while ago and its just confirmation of "you were right boys"... My opinion is, that for red side there is not enough new equipment... Is this really all??? Syrian Airborne Battalion, T-90SA Tank, BMP-3, BRDM-2 (AT-5) ??? Questions: - will be TShU-1-7 optronic jammer included for T-90 and BMP-3? - will be DROZD ACTIVE PROTECTION SYSTEMS included for T-90 and BMP-3? - why no BTR-70 or BTR-80 or BTR-90? BTR-60 is not enough! - why absolutely NO TRUCKS??? (for both sides) - why no red air? I will probably get answer, that red air will be smashed in first hours of conflict... Same argument you can use then for T-90 tanks - will be all destroyed with mighty air power... Excuse me, but these kind of arguments are used by 3 years old children... More questions then answers We will see...

  15. IF i understand well the coming modules will be part of CMSF CMx2 engine (which means all future patches will improve also previous games) or it will be separated like it was CMx1 series? Personally i prefer the growing pyramid system than separate blocks... Does anybody know how this will be? Thanx in advance.
  16. What about C2 chain? If you chose separate units, they appear in battlefield without sharing the info between them... Nobody from my recon is telling the tank crew about enemy ATGM at 10 o'clock! I am not sure how is AI using this info in working C2 chain, if the units behind spot later enemy quicker like without knowing about him? Too many ?

  19. I played with red engineers and they can find minefield, put table Aware! Mines! over it and then with order clear mines they can do it in about 40-60 seconds if not under fire... Computer AI cannot use engineers at all... they just walk like other infantry...

Thanks for answer, but as i wrote : "Its possible by creating two separate groups of course, but then its extremely difficult to create correct timing…" * this way you told me is making plans double... if i have 3 groups with tanks in every group i must then separate them and create 6 plans... and timing is difficult... I painted houses where i wanted the soldiers and one square for tanks... the problems i wanted to point at is, that one squad instead of going to the buildings occupy this small square with the tank and later suffer damage...
  21. v 1.07 observation: I created scenario, where 2 tanks advance with a few squads of soldiers. They were going to small forest, open area with small one storey building and and to village with several one storey buildings and 2 two storey building.. * Soldiers were without problems in forest, tanks find their way also, but sometimes like going around and show their back… * In open area soldier occupied the building and open terrain like it was painted, the tanks stopped on different areas... * In village I painted only houses and 2 squares in open terrain between the buildings where I wanted to park the tanks. It works, but with small problems. Together with tanks also two squads of infantry parked in open with them… Later when tanks came under fire they survived, but not the soldiers. By the way they were HQ units… My question is, is it possible in current state to plan for AI where the tanks to park exactly and without infantry? Its possible by creating two separate groups of course, but then its extremely difficult to create correct timing… so I am asking about the plan for mixed group. To make AI plans more precisely it will be good to have yellow fields like general plan for group with possibility of dark yellow fields only for vehicles without squads for exact positioning – just small idea. Thanx.
  22. One think i forget... AGS-17 Plamya is NOT working during AI plan... soldiers are doing same like these with MG, but they never fire from it, they normal deploy and then they fire from rifles... please correct this... against infantry in buildings it can be very good tool Thanx

Thanks to dima and Rokossovski for interests in this topic... i am running 1.07 patch (by the way very good one) A: method of observation: player Blue uncommon combatants and fighters with RPG's in small village in houses and on the roofs vs RED AI plan Syrian infantry with 2 BMP-1 and 3 T55MV (later changed to T72M1V) * Red AI tanks when they have full ammo and when they spotted enemy on roofs prefer to fire main cannon first... especial they don't like snipers and MG's on roofs need long time to spot RPG inside building and when this happen they fire with machine gun and after a quite very long time i have seen few times to fire main gun... When they come close enough for bad guy with RPG to fire and he do, they respond with machine gun... but they cannot suppress the guy inside quite enough and he easily fires 3-4 rounds!!! Yesterday i have seen that something like this happen to one of the tanks and other one, leader of the group has fired few times with MG and than big bum comes and the RPG guys get injured - after a while they killed the first tank Also important is to tell, that sometimes when RPG hit the tank he is just staying there... very rare he apply evasive manoeuvre - if this happen its very nice done by the way! My suggestion is to tweak little bit the respond to RPG fire in the way either to react with main gun to kill the threat or to do evasive movement... * BMP-1 has not fired against any of enemies with main gun... only MG... B: method of observation: player RED syrian infantry and 3 BMP-1 and 2 tanks T55MV with ATMG load, came later as reinforcement vs BLUE uncommon with specialist and tank T55 * this time i was flanked with group of specialist on Toyota trucks... i have not seen them, but to a miracle the BMP-1's fired rocket and main gun! against the truck and killed also the tank! but i don't how, but probably with missile... so now i don't know why this behavior in case and different in first case... but the threat was in open area and not in houses! * T55MV when given order to area fire on roof of small house it fired ATGM... quite expensive shot later alone when all missiles spend he used HE... C: observation: in manual is written, that command tanks have 2 antennas... this can be seen very nice at T-55 series where leader has two and subordinates have only one... but with T-72 all tanks have 2 antennas... Command tanks because of more radios have to have also less ammo i think... T-62 series i have to check this antenna story also... Now i test lot AI plans for RED created by me, so if i will see something interesting i will post new comments. Thanks. Marwek77

I was testing AI plans and realized that: * tanks general fire on snipers and MGs and whatever is on roofs quite often and quite quick with main gun, but this depend also from ammo status... the best results are of course with full ammo * T55AMV spend first ATGM's sending them on roof to kill sniper... why not using HE instead? * if there is RPG fire from inside of the building sometimes but very rare they start evasive movement... what conditions are needed for TacAI to do this? * in case of RPG fire from inside of building tanks respond with MG fire... but why not with main gun??? ammo status do not play role in this case... they just fire MG and guy with RPG easily fire 2 to 4 rounds without problems... its strange, if someone would like to kill me and i have a big gun at my disposal, i don't care that building!!! * BMP-1 never fire main gun doesn't matter if there is someone on the roof or inside the building... only MG fire... why? * vehicles have sometimes problems in forest when not enough place... they stick together * spotting is much quicker then in previous versions waiting for your remarks... i tested RED Syrian army vs RED combatants and fighters behavior, so i cannot tell what US tanks do... maybe someone else can
  25. Hello Battlefront, i would like to know (maybe the others too) what is your next step? I think it will be better for you and for us too to simply tell us what do you plan... something like we plan new patch, where we would like to implement this and those and we will need this and this amount of time. If you tell us your plan, we can discuss about it on the forum, focus on bugs with conection to it and simple be happy that wou! there will be something big out there one day again... Now i dont know nothing... There are still a few things running in the forum about what should be improved like C2 chain, QB, fog of war (the others will put their own list)... Can you answer these questions or at least tell us what is your plan? If you simple tell you plan big holiday, because you are tired i can accept it and would like to wish you nice holiday... but without knowing it, i cannot wish you this Thanks for any answer.
