  1. I guess a current day confilct similar to what Gibson is describing would be fun, but how would that really any different, equipment wise, than what we had? Also if you are going to do something in that kind of open terrain you've got to give us bigger maps! Personally I think a mid 80's game offers up a ton of playability, and also a level playing field. The M1 (not M1A1), and M60's with a 105mm cannon, against T-80B's will make you sweat. Not too mention mostly M113's.... Just think about it BF
  2. I like the way you think! Then followed up with BAOR module. I also hope larger maps are included and easier to do at that point. Would also really love to see helos actually flying around the battlefield.
  3. I know it's a long way until CMSF 2 is even on the drawing board, but now having finally purchased CMBN and seen water, rain, European terrain/buildings I just wanted to express my excitement and hope that CMSF 2 will eventually come to fruition. Don't forget about those of us who prefer the modern/recent era. Oh and good job with CMBN!
  4. Bingo. That did the trick! Thanks so much!
  5. Sorry for the confusion, talking about CMBN. The first time I installed it I was able to activate it using the new system. The only anti-program I use is Ad-Aware. This is the text from the error log: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?> <DATABASE> <EXE NAME="CM Normandy.exe" FILTER="GRABMI_FILTER_PRIVACY"> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="CM Normandy.exe" SIZE="23330440" CHECKSUM="0xACBA2A05" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x163FFC5" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" LINK_DATE="01/01/1970 00:00:00" UPTO_LINK_DATE="01/01/1970 00:00:00" /> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="unins000.exe" SIZE="836954" CHECKSUM="0x5B7846AC" BIN_FILE_VERSION="" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="" FILE_DESCRIPTION="Setup/Uninstall" FILE_VERSION="" VERFILEDATEHI="0x0" VERFILEDATELO="0x0" VERFILEOS="0x4" VERFILETYPE="0x1" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x60000" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION="" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="" LINK_DATE="06/19/1992 22:22:17" UPTO_LINK_DATE="06/19/1992 22:22:17" VER_LANGUAGE="Language Neutral [0x0]" /> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="Mod Tools\RezExplode\RezExplode.exe" SIZE="899960" CHECKSUM="0x4A12831D" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0xEA884" LINKER_VERSION="0x10000" LINK_DATE="12/13/2007 14:57:05" UPTO_LINK_DATE="12/13/2007 14:57:05" /> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="Mod Tools\RezPack\RezPack.exe" SIZE="905440" CHECKSUM="0xB1133770" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0xE3479" LINKER_VERSION="0x10000" LINK_DATE="12/13/2007 14:56:50" UPTO_LINK_DATE="12/13/2007 14:56:50" /> </EXE> <EXE NAME="atioglxx.dll" FILTER="GRABMI_FILTER_THISFILEONLY"> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="atioglxx.dll" SIZE="14188544" CHECKSUM="0x1709A5D1" BIN_FILE_VERSION="" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="" PRODUCT_VERSION="" FILE_DESCRIPTION="ATI OpenGL driver" COMPANY_NAME="Advanced Micro Devices, Inc." 6. I also noticed I have a Red X over the icon in the Add/Remove Program list.
  7. I purchased the game this morning, and successfully installed, and activated the eLincense. Now when I launch the game it does not start, and I get an error message. I have entered a ticket with the Helpdesk, but thought I would try here too. I have tried changing the DEP's as I saw recommended. I do not have any security software running. Below are my system specs: Intel Dual @ 2.66 GHZ 3GB RAM ATI Radeon 5570 HD (Updated drivers) Windows XP I have all CMSF mods, and they have always run fine. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  8. Someone made a great smoke mod, sorry don't remember the name. It's in the depository.
  9. Wow! Such a wide array of vehicles to choose from now. The Wolf is fast! <Need bigger maps > Screams for new European terrain, building mods, and Russian/Slavic names/languages. Thank you! And for the record, I'm not normally a WWII guy, but I'll be pre-ordering CM:N
  10. So many possibilities with the NATO release. So sort of war fought in the former Soviet Union, say Ukraine, Belorus, Russia, and throw in NATO. Are there any good Russian mods out?
  11. Look, I'm off from work today, start of a 4 day weekend, wife is out of town, kids are at grandparents, I NEED NATO this weekend!
  12. I think it's a must that when playing with modern armored fighting vehicles you need larger maps. That's the one thing that in my opinion is holding the CMSF series back. I know the infantry centric scenarios are great on the smaller maps, but perhaps you could at least give us an option for even larger maps. I think up to about 8km x 8km would fit nicely with the scale. I just want to conduct a modern high speed armored thrust, and well, it's kind of tough do that right now.
  13. A few not mentioned: The Highway War - Folsom (LAV's in OIF1) Takedown - Lacey (3rd ID in OIF1) Ambush Alley - Pritchard (Battle for Nasiriyah) House to House - Bellavia (Battle for Fallujah) Not A Good Day To Die - Naylor (Operation Anaconda - Afghanistan)
  14. Someone mentioned roads earlier, and that has been the thing that I've personally found frustrating when creating maps. A simpler solution to adding roads would in my mind be a welcomed addition.
