  1. Well written post. I am not capable to counter it. If you want to test your version of german military tradition you should post it at http://www.d-n-i.net/dni/. Since William S. Lind is frequently posting there and finds approval, it is likely you will provoke a tough discussion.
  2. I understand the frontal arc choice of HE vs. M1. Its just that HE is generally preffered by the Syrians vs. anything. Abrams side, Stryker/Bradley any aspect. Not just the first shot but second, third and so on. Sometimes HEAT is used later on. APFSDS use seems to be forbidden in the crews perception. <However, things like APFSDS can cause a catastrophic kill when used against the correct vehicle in the right way.> True, so is there no way to fix the issue that Syrians use the APFSDS against M1 sides and light armor? As experiment in Allahs fist showed it enhances chances of destroying flanked M1's with first hit and saves valuable HE for the clean up after surviving the armored engagement.
  3. To Steve: Is there any US Vehicle in the game which is harmed by APFSDS but immune to HE? Makes it any sense in the CMSF world that syrian tanks carry other rounds than HE at all?
  4. pzb39: thx, thats it, use up the HE at the beginning. Tell your friend he is a genius! Finally I've led the T62 horde in "Allahs fist" to victory!!!!
  5. "the T62MV used HEAT against the T62MV´s as the T62M used heat against the t62M" so you used T 62m's as testtargets? Then the use of HEAT instead of HE could imply that HE is indeed used vs. everything too heavy armored ---> any US Tank
  6. @teeps The targets were 1000m+ away and the AGTM was the SaggerC with up to 90% hit accuracy.
  7. Can anybody explain the following behavior of weapons in CMSF: - Often syrian ATGM's seem to be Duds, the ones on light vehicels and carried around by foot crews usually come too short (for instance in Allahs fist all three AT-3c crews got all their missiles of, but all of these hit the ground early, as if they were mortar rounds), the ones on Tanks, especially on T-62's, usually go too far. Assumes the game that russian missiles are of inferior quality or that the older missiles in the syrian inventory are unusable by 2008? - Syrian Tanks, even the T-72's in guards units who should get the best ammunition available, rarely use their AT rounds vs. Abrams. HE is fired, regardless of targetaspect. Assumes the AI that its gun can't harm the Abrams armor and uses HE for killing by damage as 75mm+ calibre tanks did in CM1x? If it is so, why receive syrian tanks any other rounds than HE at all? The lighter US stuff won't require AT as well. - Luckily for gaming experience the M1 seems not to be immune to HE. After a couple of hits the Tank is often abandoned. Is this realistic?
  8. The AT 3/4/5 use by the BMP's is indeed problematic. Probably the optics/Fire systems are too easily damaged by 12.7mm fire? I usually fail to check this, because of playing in RT mode.
  9. @ DzrtFox: I've the same problem when choosing hilly terrain. QB Maps for other terrain types are usually loaded.
  10. Actually DickesKind was atacked by 4 KV's; 6 T 60's; 4 Zis 3's; 2 Jeeps; 2 Companies of cheap infantry; 2 Snipers; 1 AT team and 1 Flamethrower when playing vs. combined arms and mech parent division.
